Fleet Management Solutions Acquired by Trafficmaster Plc
San Luis Obispo-based Fleet Management Solutions, a developer of GPS-based, satellite asset management services to enterprises for fleets and mobile assets, has been acquired. The deal was announced by UK-based Trafficmaster Plc Monday. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Fleet Management Solutions was founded in 2004. Mzima Networks Acquired By PacketExchange
Los Angeles-based Mzima Networks, a provider of Internet bandwidth services, is being acquired by London's PacketExchange, the firms said Monday. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to PacketExchange, the acquisition will merge both companies' customer base and operations. Grant Kirkwood, CTO of Mzima Networks, will become Chief Technology Officer for the merged company. Open Angel Forum Expands To Colorado
The Open Angel Forum, the new angel investment group run by Mahalo's Jason Calacanis, is expanding into Colorado with a new event, the group said Friday. The Colorado chapter is being headed up by David Cohen of TechStars, a Boulder-based incubator and Internet seed investment effort by local Colorado angels and venture investors. AirHop Adds LaForge As Advisor
San Diego-based AirHop Communications, a developer of wireless infrastructure software, announced this morning that it has added Perry LaForge to the firm's advisory board. LaForge is founder and executive director of the CDMA Development Group, a trade association focused on wireless operators and manufacturers. AirHop is a developer of software for managing wireless cell infrastructure, specifically for cell quality-of-service and coordination in 3G and 4G networks.

Fisker Automotive Raises $115.3M
Irvine-based Fisker Automotive, the electric car maker run by Henrik Fisker, announced Friday evening that the firm has raised an additional $115.3M in private equity funding. The firm said the new funding comes to enable it to access a $528.7M, U.S. Department of Energy loan for the Fisker Karma. Fisker Automotive said the new funding included A123 Systems, Ace Investments, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
