VIZIO Trumpets LCD HDTV Shipments
Irvine-based Vizio, which manufactures HDTVs, said Monday that the firm was the number 1 shipper of LCD TVs in 2009. According to numbers from El Segundo-based iSuppli, VIZIO shipped 5,920 LCD TVs in 2009, for a market share of 18.7 percent, a growth of 92.1 percent from the firm's prior year shipments. Vizio was just ahead of Samsung, which shipped 5,608 LCD TVs, for 17.7 percent of the market.

V-Vehicle Benefits From $11.55M Louisiana Bond
Stealthy San Diego-based V-Vehicle -- which is working on an alternative energy vehicle -- is the beneficiary of a $11.55M bong issue from the Ouachita Parish in Louisiana, as part of the firm's effort to build a plant in the state, according to reports. Local Louisiana publisation the News Star said that the local incentives are part of an effort to nab $320M in federal loans for the firm. Solarflare Names New Sales VP
Irvine-based Solarflare Communications announced this morning that it has hired Sean Keohane as its new Vice President of Sales. Keohane joins from Aquantia, where he was VP of Worldwide Sales; he has also served at National Semiconductor, Allied Telesyn, Accton Technology Corporation, and SMC Networks. Solarflare, which develops 10 Gigabit Etherent semiconductors, said that Keohane will focus on distribution channels as well as switch and server vendors.

Central Desktop Updates Software
Pasadena-based Central Desktop, the project management software firm run by Isaac Garcia, said today that it has rolled out a new version of its product, Central Desktop 2.0. The firm said the new software provides a redesigned user interface, and new features including online file viewing. Central Desktop develops a software-as-a-service product for managing project teams, and allows users to share files, create their own internal wikis, as well as interact on internal blogs and forums.

Power-One Licenses Patent
Camarillo-based Power-One, a developer of power supply technology, announced today that it has inked a deal with power rectifier firm Lineage Power. According to Power-One, Lineage is in a deal to license technology patents from Power-One, covering technology used to access load information, current, and voltage in electronics. Financial details of the licensing deal were not disclosed.

LeisureLink Boots Up Travel Report
Pasadena-based LeisureLink said this morning that it is starting to publish its own report on the travel market, measuring vacation lodging demand fro mainstream online travel channels. The firm said it will measure the amount of queries on such sites as Travelocity, Orbitz, Priceline, GDS Marketplaces, and its own ABetterStay.com sites for vacation rentals, timeshares, and boutique hotels. Quidel Completes Diagnostic Hybrids Acquisition
San Diego-based Quidel, a developer of medical diagnostic tests, said Friday that it has completed its $130M acquisition of Diagnostic Hybrids. Diagnostic Hybrids was located in Athens, Ohio, and develops in-vitro diagnostic assays used by hospitals and reference laboratories. Quidel said that Diagnostic Hybrids had $51M in revenues in 2009.

Telogis Names Sales VP
Aliso Viejo-based Telogis, a developer of fleet management and tracking software, said today that it has named Doug Daniels as Vice President of Sales of its Telogis GeoBase Division. Daniels joins the firm from DigitalGlobe, and also has served at deCarta and Cellport. Telogis develops products used for routing and tracking fleets using GPS technology.
