LetSimonDecide.com Hits iPhone
Los Angeles-based Ayax Systems, the developer of decision making site LetSimonDecide.com, said this week that it has launched an Apple iPhone version of its software. According to Ayax Systems, the app--which retails for 99 cents on the App store--helps users make difficult personal decisions, such as selecting a college, changing careers, or even whether or not to get a divorce. The software is the brainchild of Ricardo Solar.

Memjet Names Legg CFO
San Diego-based Memjet, a developer of color printing technology, said this week that it has added Mark W. Legg as the firm's new Chief Financial Officer. Legg joins from Genearl Atomics, where he was SVp and CFO. Legg also served at American Reprographics Company, Vivitar, and Price Waterhouse. Legg reports to Memjet President and CEO Len Lauer.

Algebraix Data Adds Mutch To Board
San Diego-based Algebraix Data, a firm that develops business intelligence software, said this week that it has named John Mutch as its Vice Chairman and member of its board of directors. Mutch is CEO of BeyondTrust Software, and also previously served as CEO of HNC Software and Peregrine Systems. Mutch also sits on the boards of Adaptec, Edgar Online, Aspyra, Overland Storage and Brio Software.

USC Taps Techie Nikias As President
The University of Southern California is tapping C. L. Max Nikias, currently Executive Vice President and Provost of the school--and former Dean of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering--as a replacement for outgoing President Steven B. Sample, the school announced this morning. Nirvanix Adds Nasuni
San Diego-based cloud storage provider Nirvanix has added a new customer of the firm's storage service, Nasuni, a Massachusetts startup providing virtual file server software. Nasuni said it is using Nirvanix to provide its customers with unlimited cloud capacity. Nirvanix is a provider of a cloud storage service targeted at enterprises and web application developers; Nasuni develops a virtual network attached storage (NAS) file server that runs on VMware. Image Metrics Raises $8.0M, In Reverse Merger
Santa Monica-based Image Metrics, a developer of facial animation software and services, has raised $8.0M in funding and gone public through a reverse merger. According to Image Metrics, it has entered into an exchange offer with International Cellular Industries, an OTC BB firm traded as ICLA, to become a pubicly traded company. Livestrong Updates MyPlate
Santa Monica-based LIVESTRONG.COM, the online health and fitness site run by Demand Media, has updated the firm's MyPlate lifestyle management tool, the company announced this morning. LIVESTRONG said that it has added new custom receipe builders, an expanded food and activity database, and other features to the tool, which allows users to track what they are eating and how often they are exercising. WD Rolls Portable Media Drive
Lake Forest-based hard drive maker WD is targeting the portable media player and camcorder market with a new product, the company said Wednesday. According to WD, it has rolled out its My Passport AV line of portable media drives, which are specifically designed for digital media enthusiasts. Sometrics Signs IGG
Los Angeles-based Sometrics has teamed up with IGG, an online gaming site, to offer advertiser offers and surveys to gamers on IGG;s games, the firms said this morning. The firms said that Sometrics will offer advertiser-sponsored opportunities for IGG gamers, in exchange for points redeemable within those games.
