Innovative Micro Technology Selected By Capella
Santa Barbara-based Innovative Micro Technology, a provider of MEMs foundry services, has been selected by optical switching firm Capella Intelligent Subsystems, the firms said Tuesday. According to Capella and IMT, they are in a strategic foundry relationship, where IMT will manufacture Capella's next-generation high performance Wavelength Selective Switches (WSS). Jacked Acquired By Roundbox
Santa Monica-based Jacked, a developer of second-screen, companion applications for TV broadcasts, has been acquired by Roundbox, a New Jersey-based developer of mobile broadcast software. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Bryan Biniak, CEO and founder of Jacked, will has joined the advisory board of Roundbox. Telogis Expands Deal With NAVTEQ
Aliso Viejo-based Telogis, a provider of route planning and optimization tools, said Tuesday that it has expanded its agreement with digital map data provider NAVTEQ. The firms said that NAVTEQ's content, including real-time traffic information, historical average traffic speeds, and truck-specific information, will be used to enhance Telogis turn-by-turn navigation, route optimization, and resource tracking services. Financial details on the expanded agreement were not announced.

Rotohog Powers MySpace March Madness Brackets
Los Angeles-based Rotohog, the online fantasy sports software firm headed by Kelly Perdew, told its users and supporters today that the firm is powering MySpace's bracket application for the upcoming March Madness NCAA basketball tournament. Details behind the win were not announced. The win came as part of an update from the company about its recent customer additions. Rotohog also said it has launched its first ever League Manager Fantasy Baseball game, which it is offering on its own site.

iolo: We're Tops In Canada
Los Angeles-based iolo technologies, a maker of system utility software for the Windows market, reported today that it has 98.1 percent of the systems utilities market in Canada. The firm, quoting numbers from NPD, said it has been in Canada since 2003. The software, which runs on Windows 7, Vista, and XP, is offered in both English and French-English bilingual versions.

Emulex Wins NetApp
Costa Mesa-based storage hardware maker Emulex reports this morning that its OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs) have been selected by NetApp. Emulex said its adapters will be used for 10Gb/Ethernet and Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) connectivity. Financial impact of the win were not disclosed.

DivX Ships Updated Video Software
San Diego-based DivX announced today that it has released a new, updated version of its video player software for the Windows platform. According to DivX, its DivX Plus Software, which is available for free, has been "completely redesigned," and now supports DivX Plus HD video, easier transfer of videos to DivX Certified devices, an enhanced Codec pack for Windows Media Player, HD support in web browsers, as well as a new video converter application supporting 1080p HD content. Cohu Swizzles Chair
Poway-based Cohu, a supplier of test handling and thermal testing hardware used in the semiconductor industry, said Monday that chairman Charles A. Schwan has resigned, and has been replaced by James A. Donahue. Donahue is the firm's President and CEO, and has been a director since 1999. Reason for the resignation was not given, however, Schwan had been CFO and CEO of Cohu, and was Chairman since 2000; he had served at Cohu for 38 years.

WD Ships One Terabyte Mac Drive
Lake Forest-based WD said today that it has released a new, one terabyte, portable hard drive for the Mac. WD said its new My Passport SE for Mac, USB drive supports either one terabyte or 750 gigabytes in capacity. The new portable drives are pre-formatted for the Mac platform, and start at $179.99. WD said it is targeting Mac users who need a traveler-friendly storage device for their rich media content.
