CleanGreenGuy Names President and COO
Los Angeles-based Clean Green Guy, which operates an online marketplace for green and clean business and technology deals, announced today that it has hired Stanley Holt as the firm's new President and COO. Holt was most recently at eHarmony, and also has served at such firms as Internet Brands, The Los Angeles Times, and Lot 11 Studios. The firm said that Holt will be responsible for day-to-day operations at the company, as well as future product enhancements.

Surfware Claims Sales Boost
Camarillo-based Surfware, a privately held developer of computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software, reported this week that it had a big boost in its March sales, versus last year. The firm said it saw a jump of 22 percent in March of 2010, versus March of 2009, and also has seen sales growth in the first quarter by 9.7 percent compared with Q1 of last year. Tech Execs Get Food Network Spotlight

Central Desktop Launches Partner Program
Pasadena-based Central Desktop, which operates a software-as-a-service project management and collaboration site, said today that it has launched a new partner program. According to the firm, which is headed by Isaac Garcia, it will allow both businesses and individuals to earn residual commissions on Central Desktop sales for new customers; the program also includes marketing and product support and commissions.

Break Media Launches Ad Server Effort
Los Angeles-based Break Media, which operates a network of Internet entertainment properties focused on men, said today that it has launched its own, in-house advertising server for its ad network. The firm said its new Apex proprietary ad server will allow advertisers to manage their advertising campaigns across Break's advertising network. Emulex Gets EMC Qual
Costa Mesa-based storage networking hardware manufacturer Emulex said today that its OneConnect iSCSI and FCoE adapters have been qualified by storage provider EMC. Emulex said that the qualification coverse EMC's Connectrix, CLARiion, Celerra, and Symmetric storage systems. Expected shipment volumes and financial impact of the qualification was not disclosed. Emulex's OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs) support both iSCSI and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE).

Leads360 Wins Automobile Insurance Firm
Los Angeles-based Leads360, a developer of hosted software for managing sales leads, reported yesterday that the firm has signed on Infinity Auto Insurance, a unit of Infinity Property and Casualty Group. According to Leads360, Infinity's independent agents will have access to its lead management software and services at a reduced price. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Fate Therapeutics Acquires Verio Therapeutics
San Diego-based Fate Therapeutics, a developer of stem cell therapeutics, announced this morning that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire Canadian biotechnology firm Verio Therapeutics. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Verio Therapeutics is developing drug candidates targeted at activating endogenous stem cells. Fate said that, as part of the buy, it has formed a Canadian subsidiary to continue Verio's discovery and development operations in Ottawa.

StrataCare Buys Marsh Business Unit
Irvine-based StrataCare, a provider of Internet-based, worker's compensation bill review software, announced this morning that it has acquired the MedBillPro division of CS Stars, a business unit of insurer Marsh, Inc. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. MedBillPro provides medical bill review services. According to StrataCare, the acquisition will give it more scale, momentum, and ability to invest in development and support of its products.
