Sotera Wireless Raises $10.75M
San Diego-based Sotera Wireless, a developer of patient monitoring technology, announced Monday afternoon that it has raised $10.75M in a strategic investment round. The round was led by West Family Holdings, LLC, and also included prior investors Sanderling Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures and Intel Capital. According to the firm, the new funding will go towards commercializing its vital signs monitoring platform, ViSi Mobile.

RealD In 3D License Deal With Chip Firm
Los Angeles-based RealD, which develops 3D projection technology for the movie business, has inked a licensing deal with systems-on-a-chip firm Sigma Designs, the two firms said Monday. According to the companies, they will jointly deliver support for RealD's stereoscopic format in Sigma's media processor products. Financial details of the licensing deal were not disclosed. GotCast Signs NBC
Los Angeles-based GotCast.com, the online casting and talent social networking site run by Alec Shankman, reported today that it is powering a talent search for NBC's 'Stand Up For Diversity' initiative. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. GotCast said the talent search will focus on finding comedians of diverse backgrounds. GotCast has an online site which helps in casting actors and other talent, and was co-founded by Wil Schroter.

eSolar Takes $20M More
Pasadena-based eSolar, the solar thermal technology developer backed by Idealab, Google, Quercus Trust, ACME Group, NRG Energy, and Oak Investment Partners, has raised $20M in an unannounced funding round, according to numbers from the latest quarterly venture capital report from PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association. Central Desktop Adds Web Folder Support
Pasadena-based Central Desktop, the online project management firm headed by Isaac Garcia, has added new web-based file folders to its suite of offerings, the company announced today. The firm said it has added support for WebDAV, a technology used to map online services to desktop file folders, so that its users can access the site's workspaces, files, and folders as if they are local hard drives. DTS Partners With Korean Smart Phone Firm
Calabasas-based DTS, a developer of surround sound technology, said today that it has entered into a deal with Korean mobile smartphone manufacturer Pantech Co., Ltd., to bring its technology to the mobile market. According to DTS, the deal calls for Pantech to launch products in April in Korea which incorporate its digital surround technology. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. RingRevenue Powers OfferMobi
Santa Barbara-based RingRevenue, a developer of pay-per-call technology headed by Jason Spievak, is powering a new performance marketing firm called OfferMobi. OfferMobi said today that it has launched a new, mobile advertising firm targeted at cell phone and smart phone users. The company said that it will operate a U.S. affiliate network focused exclusively on the mobile web, based on RingRevenue's call tracking technology. OfferMobi did not detail business arrangement with RingRevenue.

Demand Adds Mandalay's Guber, Omniture's James To Board
Santa Monica-based Demand Media, the publishing and social media firm run by Richard Rosenblatt, announced today that it has appointed Peter Guber, chairman of Mandalay Entertainment Group, and Josh James, SVP and GM of Omniture, to its board of directors. Guber is Chairman and CEO of Mandalay Entertainment, and previously was Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Santa Monica-based SharesPost, the secondary market for private company shares run by Greg Brogger, announced this morning that it is extending its platform to add independent brokers. The firm said that it has added what it cals "SharesPost Company Specialists" who will offer SharesPost members expertise on specific companies traded on its marketplace, and will help members buy and sell particular firms represented in the marketplace. Magento Ties With Hosting Firm
Los Angeles-based Magento, a developer of e-commerce software, said today that it has linked in an alliance with IT hosting provider PEER 1 Hosting. According to the two, the partnership will enable merchants using Magento's e-commerce software to deploy their sites on PEER 1 Hosting. Financial arrangements between the firms was not announced. Magento is a developer of open source, e-commerce software, and is headed by Roy Rubin.

Kyocera International Names CFO
San Diego-based Kyocera International, the North American headquarters for Kyocera Corporation, said today that it has named William J. Edwards as Executive Vice Presidents and Chief Financial Officer. Edwards was most recently VP and Treasurer of the firm, and has been at the firm since 1984. Kyocera is a developer of telecome quipment, solar power, semiconductors, electronic components, ceramics, and other products.

Sorenson Media Wins Go Daddy
San Diego-based Sorenson Media, a developer of video encoding software, said today that it has been selected by Internet domain and web hosting firm Go Daddy.
