Clicker Adds People Pages
Los Angeles-based Clicker.com, the online video programming startup backed by JAFCO Ventures, Benchmark, and Redpoint, said Thursday afternoon that it has added a new "People Page" feature to the site. The firm said the feature allows users of the site to discover programs related to actors, writers, producers, and directors in searches. Clicker said it is featuring over 75,000 people through the new feature. Clicker is headed by former Ask.com CEO Jim Lanzone.

Confident Technologies Unveils CAPTCHA Tool
San Diego-based Confident Technologies, the new startup which is using image authentication technology originally developed by Vidoop, has rolled out its image-based CAPTCHA tools, the firm said this week. The company--which is headed by Curtis Staker--said its image-based CAPTCHA alternative greatly increases website security and user experience. CyberDefender Sees Bump In Revenues
Los Angeles-based CyberDefender, the developer of anti-spyware and anti-virus software headed by Gary Guseinov, reported its results Thursday afternoon, saying that its revenues jumped to $9.5M in Q1, up significantly from the $3.2M in revenues from Q1 of last year. The company also reported gross sales of $11.8M, up from $6.2M in Q1 of last year. The firm splits its gross sales and revenue numbers, due to the subscription nature of its products.
