RealD Prices IPO
Los Angeles-based 3D movie technology provider RealD said late Thursday evening that it has priced its IPO, offering 12.5M shares of its common stock at $16.00 per share. The firm said it expects to start trading Friday on the NYSE as "RLD". The IPO priced above the firm's initial estimated IPO pricing of between $13.00 and $15.00 per share. The firm said it is selling 6.0M of those shares, with selling stockholders offering 6.5M shares; the firm also said the underwriters have been been granted (More info...)

Language Weaver Acquired For $42.5M
Los Angeles-based Language Weaver, the University of Southern California spinout which provides statistical machine translation software, has been acquired by UK-based SDL. According to SDL, it has signed an agreement to acquire Language Weaver for $42.5M in cash, in a deal which is expected to complete by July 28th. SDL said that Language Weaver had annual revenues of $12.2M for the calendar year ending 2009, and a loss of $1.0M. Language Weaver was spun out of University of Southern California (More info...)

RFaxis Bolsters Advisory Board
Irvine-based RFaxis, a semiconductor firm headed by Mike Neshat, and focused on the RF semiconductor market, said this week that it has added Professor Hongliang Hu to its board of advisors. RFaxis said Professor Hu is the "founder" of China's semiconductor industry, having served as Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Co., Ltd. and a founder of China's first semiconductor fabrication facility, the Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC). Cornerstone OnDemand Names CTO
Santa Monica-based Corenerstone OnDemand, a developer of software-as-a-service for human resources and talent management, announced today that it has named Mark Goldin as Chief Technology Officer of the firm. Goldin was most recently Chief Operations and Technology Officer at Green Dot Corporation. Goldin also has served at Thomson Elite/Elite.com, DestinationRx, and Trace Alexander Ltd. GRP Backs Payment Card Provider Wave Crest
Los Angeles-based venture firm GRP Partners is backing a prepaid card firm, Wave Crest Holdings Limited, based in Gibraltar. According to Wave Crest today, it raised $8.5M in a Series B funding round led by GRP Partners, which also included Park Ventures. TriZetto Names New CEO, Moves HQ
Newport Beach The TriZetto Group, a provider of software to the healthcare market, announced today that it has named Trace Devanny as its new CEO and to its board. As part of the appointment, the firm also said it has relocated its corporate headquarters to Greenwood Village, Colorado, where Devanny is located. Gendai Games Raises Funding
Los Angeles- and Austin-based Gendai Games, a publisher of iPhone game development software, has raised a round of funding, according to the firm. Amount of the funding was not disclosed, however the firm said the funding was somewhere over $1M. The round was led by DFJ Mercury, and also included investments from Steamboat Ventures, DFJ Frontier, and ff Asset Management. Smith Micro Launches File Delivery Service
Aliso Viejo-based Smith Micro Software, a developer of utility and mobile management software, announced today that it has launched a new file delivery product called SendStuffNow. The firm said the new, software-as-a-service offering allows users to send very large files over the Internet. Smith Micro's new service is aimed at both files which are too big to send via email, as well as files which need closer security and monitoring. Pricing on the new service was not disclosed.
