Green Dot Ups Offering Size
Pasadena-based Green Dot, the provider of prepaid credit cards, has upped its IPO offering size, saying in a filing with the SEC Monday afternoon that it will now offer 4,170,827 shares of its stock in its IPO, up from 3,850,000 shares in its prior documents. The additional shares boosts the size by around 8 percent. Green Dot has indicated it will price at between $32 to $35 a share. Green Dot has applied to list on the NYSE as GDOT. Perfect Market Unveils New Content Monetization Tool
Altadena-based Perfect Market, the Idealab startup which develops software which helps traditional publishers monetize their archival and current content, said today that it has unveiled a new tool it is calling The Vault. According to the firm, which is run by Julie Schoenfeld, the new tool helps newsrooms and editors to determine the biggest demand for articles, and help publishers monetize their content based on that demand. Make It Work Goes National With Remote Support
Santa Barbara-based MakeItWork, the in-home computer repair firm headed by Eric Greenspan, said today that it has launched its services nationwide. Green Dot Set To Debut This Week
In what seems like almost weekly news now about a Southern California firm gearing up for the public markets, Monrovia-based Green Dot is expected to hit the markets sometime this week. Green Dot would follow the debut last week of Beverly Hills-based RealD, which saw an impressive run up in its first day of trading Friday.Green Dot has said it expects to price between $32.00 and $35.00 per share, and will list on the NYSE at GDOT. On Assignment Buys Sharpstream
Calabasas-based On Assignment, the publicly held professionals staffing provider for the life sciences industry, said today that it has acquired Sharpstream, a provider of search services for the executive and middle manager segment of the life sciences sector. On Assignment said it is paying $5.0M in cash plus unspecified earnout for Sharpstream, which is based in London. The firm also said that Sharpstream had approximately $5.0M in revenues in fiscal 2009.

Savings.com Gets $8.726M
Los Angeles-based Savings.com, an online site connecting consumers with online deals, sales, and coupons, has raised $8.726M in funding, according to recent numbers released by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association. Details on the funding have not been announced. Savings.com has previously raised funding from U.S. Venture Partners.

Mogreet Ties With Oddcast
Los Angeles-based Mogreet, the mobile marketing firm headed by James Citron, said today along with Oddcast that the firms have partnered. The two said that the two will combine Oddcast's talking avatars with Mogreet's MMS marketing and messaging platform, launching with a mobile effort with E*TRADE Financial. Mogreet and Oddcast said that E*TRADE is offering up "talking baby avatars" to mobile phones, allowing users to create their own, animated talking baby messages to share with others. Novatel Gets NTT DOCOMO Certification
San Diego-based Novatel Wireless, a developer of wireless broadband cards and other equipment, reported today that the firm's MiFi mobile hotspot product has been certified with NTT DOCOMO. The firm said the MiFi 2372 is now available for NTT DOCOMO's network through Inter Communications in Japan. Novatel's MiFi product turns a cell phone connection into a miniature Wi-Fi hotspot for up to five devices.

eNom Adds VeriSign Trust Seal
Santa Monica-based eNom, the domain name registration business of Demand Media, said today that it has added a new VeriSign Trust Seal offering. The firm, which is already a reseller of VeriSign SSL certificates, said the offering will tell visitors to web sites that those sites have passed malware and other daily tests. eNom is a wholly owned subsidiary of Demand Media, and was acquired by Demand Media back in 2006.

Spectrum Pharmaceuticals Names Chief Scientific Officer
Irvine-based Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceuticals firm focused on hematology and oncology, said today that it has named George Tidmarsh, M.D., Ph.D., as Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer. Tidmarsh was the founder of Horizon Pharma and Threshold Pharmaceuticals, and also has served at Coulter Pharmaceuticals, Sequus Pharmaceuticals, Gilead Sciences, Systemix, and Metronome Therapeutics.
