MyLife: More Than 1 Billion Profiles
Los Angeles-based MyLife, the people search site run by Jeff Tinsley, said Monday that it has now aggregated more than 1 billion user profiles. The site, which helps users find old contacts, coworkers, friends, and others, charging a subscription for access to the service. The site is backed by Oak Investment Partners, which has invested $25M in the firm. BioIQ Ups Funding By $1.0M
Santa Barbara-based BioIQ, the provider of online wellness testing and related services for employees and their employers, has upped its latest round of funding to just over $1.0M, according to a regulatory filing from the firm today. Details on the additional funding were not disclosed. The company is headed by Justin Bellante. The firm has previously announced around $2.5M in funding from Great Pacific Capital.

Study: Users Not Willing To Pay To Use Twitter, Other Online Services
A study released Friday by the Center for the Digital Future, at the USC Annenberg School of Communications, finds that zero percent of Twitter users polled in the study would pay for Twitter. According to the study, it found that 49 percent of Internet users have used micro-blogging services like Twitter, but found that there was zero percent of users polled were willing to pay for such a service directly. Rockoco Gets $1.5M For Super-Polishing Diamonds
Pasadena-based Rockoco, a spinout of Caltech, has raised $1.5M in a funding round, according to lead investor the Pasadena Angels. Rockoco is developing technology which increases the polish of natural diamonds, beyond previously achievable levels. Vision Solutions Completes Double-Take Buy
Irvine-based Vision Solutions said today that it has completed its acquisition of Double-Take Software, which develops high availability and disaster recovery software. The deal was worth $242M. Vision Solutions said the buy "significantly expands" its product offerings and distribution capabilities. Vision Solutions is backed by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, and is the third major acquisition for Vision. iRise Expands Into Code Generation
El Segundo-based iRise, a developer of tools used by enterprises to prototype and visualize IT software projects, said today that it has shipping a new product which automatically produces code from its visualizations. iRise said its new iRise CodeGen product translates the firm's visualization into either Java or .NET code. CrowdGather Buys Lefora
Woodland Hills-based CrowdGather, which operates an online network of discussions groups and forums, said today that it is in a definitive agreement to buy the technical assets of Lefora, a firm which operates online user forums. Tri Alpha Energy Gets $50M
Irvine-based Tri Alpha Energy, a stealth mode firm apparently working on nuclear fusion technology, has raised $50M in funding, according to numbers released earlier this month in the PricewaterhouseCoopers/NVCA Moneytree venture capital report. Teledyne Completes Intelek Buy
Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies Incorporated announced this morning that it has completed its acquisition of Intelek plc, a manufacturer of electronics systems for the satellite and microwave communications market. The deal was worth approximately $52M. Teledyne said that Intelek's Paradise Datacom division, which designs and manufactures satellite modems, transceivers, power amplifiers, and other components for the satellite communications market, becomes Teledyne Paradise Datacom. Mindspeed Sells Patents
Newport Beach-based chip provider Mindspeed Technologies said this morning that it has sold off a number of its patents in a $10M intellectual property sale. According to Mindspeed, the "legacy" patent sale includes $7.5M recorded in its fiscal fourth quarter 2010 revenues, and $2.5M which will be reported in its first quarter of 2011. Name of the buyer of the patents was not disclosed, nor were the specific patents covered in the sale.

Conexant Gets Design Win
Newport Beach-based Conexant Systems announced today that it has scored a design win with VXi Corporation. According to Conexant, VXi is using its CX20562 speakers-on-a-chip audio product. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. Conexant's semiconductors are being used for a USB headset adapter from Vxi.
