Myricom Names New CEO
Arcadia-based Myricom, a developer of high speed networking interconnect hardware used for high performance computing (HPC), said this week that it has named Nanette (Nan) Boden as its President and CEO. According to Myricom, Boden has been at Myricom since 1994, when the firm was founded. She has been a member of the firm's board since 2001, when she was appointed CFO. SpaceX Targets European Satellite Market
Hawthorne-based SpaceX, the commercial rocket firm headed by Elon Musk and backed by the Founders Fund and Draper Fisher Jurvetson, said today that it has inked a deal with Astrium to provide dedicated launch serviecs to the European institutional small satellite market. LA Times Vets Launch Ebyline, Gain Angel Funding
Los Angeles-based Ebyline said today that it has launched a new online marketplace targeted at news publishers and professional journalists, which helps publishers manage freelance writers. The firm said it is backed by un-named Los Angeles angel investors, and was founded by former Los Angeles Times journalists. Amount of the funding was not announced. Anametrix Funding Worth $1.15M
San Diego-based Anametrix, a developer of cloud-based business analytics software, revealed this week via a regulatory filing that its recently announced round was worth $1.15M, part of a $2.3M fundraising effort by the company. The firm had earlier announced the funding, saying that it had added Michael Robertson, Fred Bourgeois, Neil Senturia, Eric Otterson, Gavin Mandelbaum and Laurent Asscher to its advisory board. AeroVironment Plans Fall Rollout Of Home EV Charging Stations
Monrovia-based AeroVironment said this morning that it is scheduled to begin installing its home, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations this fall, after receiving Underwriters Laboratories listing on its products. The firm said its network of certified installers have begun home assessments in preparing for charging stations for an un-named major auto manufacturer, and expects those stations to be installed in the fall. Sentinel IC Technologies Expands Into Europe
Laguna Beach-based Sentinel IC Technologies, a firm which provides semiconductor design services for the analog, mixed-signal, RF, and power semiconductor markets, said this morning that it has opened up a new office Delemont, Switzerland. VMIX Raises $2.5M
San Diego-based VMIX, a provider of online video publishing tools, announced today that it has raised $2.5M in a Series C funding round. Source of the new funding was not disclosed. According to VMIX, the new funding will go towards the firm's expansion into more markets, including Europe and Asia. The new round of funding brings the company's total raised to $26M. VMIX develops software used by companies to publish and host online videos.
