Break Media Scores With NFL.com
Los Angeles-based Break Media, the online video site run by Keith Richman, has scored a win with NFL.com, the firm said Friday. According to the two, they have launched a new, NFL.com channel on Break, which will feature content that is concurrently available on NFL.com. Financial details of the partnership between the two companies were not announced. Predixion Software Adds $3M
According to a report today from VentureWire, Aliso Viejo-based Predixion Software has added $3M to the firm's Series A funding round, from Palomar Ventures. Predixion is developing data mining and analytics software, and is headed by Simon Arkell, formerly of Triton Pacific Capital Partners and Gramercy Ventures. Predixion's board includes Bob Holmen of Miramar Venture Partners and Jim Schraith of DFJ Frontier, as well as former DatAllegro CEO Stuart Frost.

Gevo Buys Ethanol Plant
Gevo, the Caltech spinoff developing biofuels processing technology, said last week that it has completed its acquisition of a biofuels plant in Luverne, Minnesota. The plant--which currently is producing ethanol--will be converted to product isobutanol using Gevo's technology. Gevo's technology is based on research developed out of Caltech, although the firm is now located in Colorado. Gevo is one of the SoCal-linked firms currently in IPO registration. Mindflash.com Takes On Online Training
Santa Barbara-based Mindflash.com, an online training platform site headed by former Mint.com Chief Marketing Officer Donna Wells, said this week that it has officially launched its online trianing platform. The firm says it is targeting small businesses, and offers a way to help those businesses provide employee training. Amonix Wins Cal Poly Pomona
Seal Beach-based Amonix, a developer of photovoltaic energy systems, has scored a win at Cal Poly Pomona University. According to Cal Poly Pomona, it has installed a concentrated photovoltaic energy system from Amonix at its Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies. The school said it will be using two, Amonix CPV systems to generate 210,000 kw hours of clean energy annually.
