PathCentral Gets $10M More
Irvine-based PathCentral, a provider of pathology services and software to community pathologists, said Tuesday that it has raised $10M in a Series B funding round. The round was led by Okapi Venture Capital, Arboretum Ventures, and Baird Venture Partners. The firm said the funding will go towards its web-based laboratory information systems, a field sales force, and for its cancer diagnostics laboratory. RealD Revenues Up
Los Angeles-based RealD, the provider of 3D movie projection technology, has reported its quarterly results today, saying it had net revenues of $65.3M for its quarter ended September 24, 2010. The revenues were up by 69 percent from its second quarter last year, when it had $38.7M in revenues. For the six months ending September 24th, the firm's first half fiscal 2011, the firm had net revenues of $129.8M, more than double the $64.2M it saw in the six months ending September 25, 2009. Identive Group Buys RFID Firm
Santa Ana-based Identive Group, a provider of security and RFID products, said this week that it has acquired a Singapore-based manufacturer of RFID inlays and inlay applications. Accoring to Identive, it has purchased the Smartag subsidiary of France-based Group FCI SA, as well as related RFID patents and intellectual property. Anametrix Names CFO
San Diego-based Anametrix, the developer of cloud-based business analytics software, reported today that it has named John Burke as the firm's CFO. Burke has previously been at St. Bernard Software--where he also served as CFO-and also has been at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Anametrix also said it has added Roger Haddad to its advisory board. Bizzy Launches Local Recommendations Site
Bizzy, a new personalized location recommendation engine, said today that it has launched a new service to help users find local businesses. The site--which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal--said it is launching into beta, and will help match people with similar preferences, based on the answers they give to a series of questions about a users' favorite places. SpecificMedia Raises $5.3M
Irvine-based Specific Media, which operates an Internet advertising network, has issued $5.3M in equity, according to a regulatory filing by the firm this week. According to the filing, the new equity came on October 27th. It's unclear if the new equity comes as funding from the firm's investors, or if the new equity might be related to the firm's acquisition earlier in October of Broadband Enterprise (BBE), an online video advertising company. iSuppli Acquired By IHS
El Segundo-based iSuppli, the electronics research and analysis firm headed by Derek Lidow, has been acquired by IHS, a publisher and provider of a wide range of research services. GenMark Diagnostics In Licensing Deal
Carlsbad-based GenMark Diagnostics, a developer of molecular diagnostic testing systems, said this morning that it has acquired a non-exclusive license to technology from Innogentics. The firm said the licesne covers Innogenetics' Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) genotyping patent estate for the United States. Financial details of the license were not disclosed. The move adds testing capability for Hepatitis C (HCV) to the firm's roster of molecular diagnostics offerings.

Sonos Extends Into China
Santa Barbara-based Sonos, the developer of multi-room music streaming systems, said today that it is extending the distribution of its products to China. The firm said it has opened up a new office in Shenzen, which will be the headquarters of Sonos China. The new office will be headed by Yaling Zhang, who the firm said previously was Managing Director of Archos China. Move Renews MSN Content Deal
Move, Inc., the online real estate site, said today that it has renewed its content distribution agreement with MSN. Move, which has major operations in the Thousand Oaks area but is now headquartered in Campbell, California, said that the agreement allows MSN visitors to search for real estate property listings from Move's network, under MSN's Money tab on its homepage. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed. The two have had a content listing deal since 2003.

EPS Wins Land O'Lakes In Energy Management Deal
Costa Mesa-based EPS Corp., which develops energy management systems, reports today that food and agricultural cooperative Land O'Lakes, Inc. has adopted the firm's energy management products. EPS said that Land O' Lakes is using the firm's products to help it reduce its carbon emissions and water usage by 25 percent by 2020. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. EPS is delivering a enterprise-wide energy management program across Land O'Lakes dairy facilities.

Contour Energy Gets New Patent
Azusa-based Contour Energy Systems, the Caltech battery technology startup headed by Joe Fisher, said today that it has been awarded a new, U.S. patent. According to the firm, the new patent covers its production process and fluorinated multi-layered carbon nanomaterials, which are used in its batteries.
