Comcast Takes Aim At Online Videos
Cable provider Comcast appears to be taking aim at online video sites, and has demanded that Internet Service Provider Level 3 pay the company fees in order to transmit Internet online movies and other content to Comcast customers. Awarepoint Raises $3.2M
San Diego-based Awarepoint, a developer of real time, location monitoring systems for hospitals, has raised another $3.2M in capital, according to a recent regulatory filing by the firm. The filing indicates current investors Venrock, JAFCO, and Cardinal Partners were among the investors. No details on the funding have yet been announced by the company.

Sprint Rolls Out 4G In Los Angeles
Sprint said today that it has officially opened up its 4G wireless network in the Los Angeles area, which it says will provide mobile web browsing at speeds up to 10 times faster than its 3G network. According to Sprint, it will be offering up a range of 4G capable devices in Los Angeles. Central Desktop Names Marketing VP
Pasadena-based Central Desktop, the online project management and social collaboration software provider headed by Isaac Garcia, said today that it has named Linda Souza as its Associate Vice President of Marketing. Souza joins the firm from Everbridge, where she headed integrated marketing communication, lead-generation and product marketing activities. Souza has also served at Ariba/FreeMarkets.

Los Angeles-based EQAL, the social entertainment and media firm known for lonelygirl15, is powering a new web site for Earth Balance and Whole Foods Market. According to Earth Balance, it is launching a new holiday bakeoff community--MadeJustRight.com--which will allow home bakers a chance to win prizes and have their recipes featured on Whole Food's web site. Black Friday Sales Up 9 Percent To $648M, Says Report
The latest numbers from Internet measurement firm comScore find that e-commerce sales this year are surging, totaling $648M in online sales on November 26th. so far the heaviest online spending day to date in 2010. comScore, which tracks Internet traffic and e-commerce trends, said that sales on Black Friday were up 9 percent compared with last year. Buy.com Claims Record Black Friday Sales
Aliso Viejo-based Buy.com reports that it had its best Black Friday performance in company history. According to Buy.com, it saw more than 45 percent year-over-year sales growth on its web site in Black Friday shopping. Actual financials for the day were not released. Buy.com said the increase came due to its third-party, Buy.com marketplace efforts, which it said grew more than 100 percent compared to last year.

CLEAR 4G Opens In Los Angeles
4G wireless service provider Clearwire said Sunday that today is the official opening of its 4G wireless network in Los Angeles. Clearwire said its CLEAR 4G wireless network is available today in Los Angeles, covering about 11 million people in the region, with coverage ranging from Irvine to West Hills. JAKKS Pacific Launches Xbox 360 Kinect Accessory
Malibu-based toy manufacturer JAKKS Pacific said this morning that it is launching a line of plush toys that interact with the Microsoft Kinect for Xbox 360. According to JAKKS Pacific, it is in a licensing agreement with Microsoft to manufacture interactive plush toys that interact with the Kinectimals video game for Kinect. The first two toys in th eline will be King Cheetah and Maltese Tiger, which will sell for $59.99 at select game retailers.
