Moniker's Cahn Departs Oversee.net
Los Angeles-based Oversee.net, the operator of domain monetization and Internet marketing sites, said Friday that Moniker founder Monte Cahn will be leaving the firm. Cahn has been at Oversee since December of 2007, when Oversee.net acquired Moniker. Oversee's Jeff Kupietzky said that Oversee "look(s) forward to working with" Cahn in new capacities.

Encompass Digital Media Buys Ascent Media's Content Distribution Business
Los Angeles-based Encompass Digital Media said today that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire the global content distribution business of Ascent Media Corporation. The deal is worth approximately $120M, split between $113M in cash plus assumption of debt obligations worth approximately $7M. The deal is being funded by capital from Macquarie Capital and Tennenbaum Capital Partners. Wasserstein & Co. is the majority owner of Encompass. Verizon Sets 4G Launch For Sunday
Verizon Wireless is getting set to launch its 4G LTE service in Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego this weekend, saying this week it will allow consumers to signup for its 4G service on Sunday, December 4th. The launch--which comes only days after Sprint and Clearwire launched their own, 4G wireless in the area--will allow consumers to access Verizon's 4G network using two USB modems. DFR To Honor Quigley, Turk, Hughes
The annual Digital Family Reunion, the annual holiday get together being run by Brad Nye, is announcing today that it will be honoring venture capitalist William Quigley, as well as technology bankers Mark Turk and Stephen Hughes at its event this year. Quigley is being awarded an "Outstanding Achievement" award for his leadership, technical innovation, business acumen and community involvement. CareFusion Names CFO
San Diego-based CareFusion, a developer of medical devices, including ventilators and pumps, said this morning that it has named James F. Hinrichs as its Chief Financial Officer. Hinrichs replaces Edward BOrkowski, who the firm said is leaving the company. Hinrichs is the former CFO of Cardinal Health's Clinical and Medical Products segment, which eventually became CareFusion.

PC Mall Services Names President
Torrance-based PC Mall, the catalog marketer of technology products, said earlier this week that it has named Greg Richey as President of its PC Mall Services subsidiary. Richey will lead the firm's professional services and technical solution support programs. Richey was most recently President of ProConnection, PC Connection's services and solutions group, and also has been a technology reseller, in addition to serving at Avnet and Amherst Technologies.
