HID Global Completes ActivIdentity Buy
Irvine-based HID Global, which is owned by ASSA ABLOY, said today that it has completed its acquisition ActivIdentity, a Fremont-based firm which provides digital authentication of users. The deal was originally announced in October, and was worth $162M in cash. HID Global is a maker of access control cards and related products.

Internet Brands Acquisition Completes
El Segundo-based Internet Brands said Friday that the acquisition of the firm by private equity firm Hellman & Friedman has closed. The acquisition, which had originally been announced in September, was worth $640M. Internet Brands said that the firm will cease trading on the NASDAQ Global Select Market at close of the market today. JMI Equity also invested in Internet Brands as part of the sale. AudioMicro Adds New Sound Effects Library
Los Angeles-based AudioMicro, the online marketplace for royalty free sounds effects and music, said today that it has added a new library of sound effects to the site. AudioMicro--which is headed by Ryan Born--said it has added 15,000 new sound effects from the Sounddogs sound effects library. The library comes from Rob Nokes, a producer for such films as X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Real Steel, Million Dollar Baby, Generation Kill, and Seabiscuit. Cornerstone On Demand Updates S-1
Santa Monica-based Cornerstone On Demand, which recently filed for an IPO on the NASDAQ Global Market as CSOD, has updated its IPO filings documents with the SEC. The firm's latest S-1 shows that the firm had revenues of $32.572M for the nine months ended September 30th, and had a net loss of $31.4M, due to an accounting charge of $24.0M due to the change in the fair value of its preferred stock warrant liabilities. Amgen Gives $1.8M To Teach For America
Thousand Oaks-based Amgen, via its nonprofit foundation, the Amgen Foundation, said Friday that it is giving $1.8M to the Teach For America effort. According to the two, the funding will go towards increasing the number of math and science graduates who are joining Teach For America's teaching corps by 2013. Teach For America helps advance math and science in America's underserved public schools. Citrix Buys Netviewer
Santa Barbara-based Citrix Online said this morning that it is in a definitive agreement to acquired Netviewer AG, a developer of software-as-a-service tools for business collaboration. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Netviewer is based in Europe. Citrix Online said the move will help accelerate its growth in Europe. The company said Netviewer has more than 18,000 customers using its products.

Total Immersion Ties With Firm On Holiday Gift Cards
Los Angeles-based Total Immersion, the developer of augmented reality technology, said today that it has tied with Credelis Media Group to tie its technology to holiday gift cards. The two said that Credelis and Ad-Dispatch have used Total Immersion's software to create augmented reality gift cards. The cards show personalized video messages when shown to a PC webcam.

Identive Group Adds VP
Santa Ana-based Identive Group, which provides security, identification, and RFID products, said Thursday that it has named Brent Archer as its Vice President Group Operations & Supply Chain. Archer has previously served at such firms as Digital Angel, ASSA ABLOY, HID, and Rainbow Technologies. Identive Group is headed by Ayman Ashour.

Kurion Sets Up Shop In Irvine
Kurion, a developer of nuclear waste management technology, said Thursday afternoon that it has set up a headquarters and engineering office in Irvine. The firm, which is a spinout of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, is venture backed by Lux Capital Management and Firelake Capital Management. Kurion said it selected Irvine for its headquarters, due to the concentration of small and medium sized engineering and design companies and talent in Orange County and Los Angeles COunty.
