PostUp Buys UberTwitter, Becomes UberMedia
Pasadena-based PostUp, the Internet advertising firm spawned out of Idealab, said Friday afternoon that it has acquired UberTwitter, developer of a Twitter client that runs on the BlackBerry Platform. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. As part of the acquisition, the firm said it has changed its named to Ubermedia. CODA Holdings Names New CEO
Santa Monica-based CODA Holdings, the developer of electric vehicles and Lithium-ion power battery systems, said Friday afternoon that it has named Philip Murtaugh as its new Chief Executive Officer. Murtaugh was previously Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GM China, in addition to serving at Shangai Automotive Industry Corporation, at Chrysler, and as a director of Lear Corporation. President Obama To Honor USC Professor With Math, Science Award
A University of Southern California professor with a specialty in robotics is one of eleven individuals being honored by President Obama next week, as part of the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring. According to the White House, Obama will be awarding Maja J. Mataric, who is a Professor of Professor of Computer Science, Neuroscience, and Pediatrics at the University of Southern California, at a ceremony at the White House next week. TestFlightApp Launches iPhone Test App
Los Angeles-based TestFlightApp, a new service developed by 23 Divide, was launched Thursday afternoon, allowing developers of application for Apple's iOS to send their beta apps over the air for testing. According to TestFlightApp, the service has been in closed beta for a few months, allowing developers to easily click and drop their IOS applications to beta testers via an email notification. 23 Divide is headed by Ben Satterfield.

GRP's Suster Ranks Among Top In VC Bloggers List
Mark Suster, a venture capitalist at GRP Partners, has made the top 10 in an annual ranking of venture capitalist bloggers, the only Southern California venture capitalist to make the listing. According to the list, put together by Larry Cheng and based on Compete traffic numbers, Suster was ranked number 3, with 53,655 monthly unique visitors to his blog, Both Sides of the Table. Fallbrook Technologies Links With Electric Vehicle Firm
San Diego-based Fallbrook Technologies, the developer of electric vehicle transmissions, said earlier this week that it has linked with electric car maker TEAM Industries. Fallbrook and TEAM said they are partnering to develop an electric vehicle transmission prototype for the Tomberlin Anvil vehicle, a street-legal electric vehicle designed for neighborhood driving. SRS Labs Names Exec
Santa Ana-based SRS Labs, a developer of surround sound, audio, and voice technology, said this week that it has named John Kellogg as the firm's Executive Director of Corporate Strategy. Kellogg was most recently General Manager of Content Relations for Dolby, and was ounder of Jhana Music Group. SRS said Kellogg has more than 25 years of experience in the audio and entertainment industry.
