UberMedia: We've Made Twitter's Changes, Waiting On Twitter
Pasadena-based UberMedia, the Twitter client apps firm which is part of Idealab, said Friday afternoon that it has "completed the changes" requested by Twitter in its applications, in response to Twitter's shutdown of UberTwitter, Twidroyd, and UberCurrent. Among those changes are the names of UberTwitter being renamed to UberSocial, which the firm said has been completed as of today. Twitter Takes Aim At UberMedia, Shuts Access To Twidroyd
Taking aim at Pasadena-based UberMedia, the Twitter client firm headed by Bill Gross, Twitter has shut down access to the firm's API for two of UberMedia's clients, including Twidroyd and UberTwitter. According to a statement on Twitter's blog, it shut down the access, for "violating our policies." Twitter, in announcing the shutdown, suggested that users should, instead, download the "official" applications for BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone. King.com Extends To Facebook
Los Angeles- and London-based online games developer King.com said this morning that it has extended its games system to Facebook. King.com, which develops tournament-based casual games, said the firm is now linking to Facebook, with a set of its 26 game titles. The firm is venture backed by Index Ventures and Apax Partners.

ReachLocal Expands Into Germany
Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal said this week that it has expanded into Germany, and has opened up a new office in Berlin. The firm, which helps small and medium sized businesses place search and online advertising, said the new office will help serve German businesses. The new office will be managed by Sascha Kronberg.

United Online Names Classmates Head
Woodland Hills-based United Online has named a new head of its Classmates division, the firm said this morning. United Online said it has appointed Harold Zeitz as President of Classmates, reporting to CEO Mark R. Goldston. Zeitz was most recently at International Game Technology (IGT), and also has served at Realnetworks, serving as COO of that firm's Games Division. Zeitz also has served at ShareBuilder and AT&T Wireless.

Calcimedia Gets $6M
La Jolla-based CalciMedica, a developer of small molecule drugs for the treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, said Thursday that it has raised $6M in a tranche of financing, after initiating a Phase I clinical trial of a treatment for psoriasis. The funding came from all of its existing investors, including Sanderling Ventures, SR One and Biogen Idec New Ventures. The firm said the funding will allow it to complete its Phase 1 clinical trial by Q3 of 2011.
