JMI Equity Invests In PointClickCare
San Diego- and Baltimore-based private equity firm JMI Equity has invested in PointClickCare, a developer of electronic health records software for the long-term care industry. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. PointClickCare said the minority strategic investment will go towards organic and inorganic growth. JMI Equity Founder and Managing General Partner Harry Gruner joins PointClickCare's board as part of the funding.

Hulu Ties Into TED
Los angeles-based video site Hulu said this morning that it has inked a deal with the TED conference--which, not coincidentally, kicks off today in Long Beach--and will be featuring the 50 most popular TEDTalks from the last few years. Hulu also said it will offer up new talks from the 2011 TED conference in the partnership, and that content will be available to both Hulu.com and Hulu Plus users. Mad Catz Acquires Flight Simulation Firm
San Diego-based Mad Catz Interactive, which makes videogame and other entertainment accessories, said today that it has acquired the assets of V Max Simulation Corporation, a developer of flight simulation equipment and software. Mad Catz said it paid $378,000 in cash plus $260,000 in its stock for V Max Simulation, and will also pay 5 percent of profits from its fighter flight simulation business to that firm's founder, David Kinney. JibJab Breaks Records With Justin Bieber Promo
Los Angeles-based JibJab, the online humor and comedy site run by Gregg Spiridellis, reports today that its recent web video campaign for the Justin Bieber: Never Say Never movie has broken records for the most engaged audience ever on the site. According to JibJab, the campaign--run for Paramount's Insurge Pictures--generated over 2.8 million views for the campaign, with users creating over 400,000 personalized videos on the site. ShowUHow Adding QR Code Support
San Diego-based ShowUHow, the e-commerce video firm headed by Kim Folsom, is demonstrating new QR code support on the firm's iPhone app today. The firm, which offers up video product guides for manufacturers and retailers, said users will soon be able to scan a QR code on product packages to access videos on products which are supported by ShowUHow. The new features are being demonstrated at DEMO today. ShowUHow did not say when the new features will be released in its iPhone app.

Paramount, Nickelodeon Tie Into Zynga On Rango
Los Angeles-based Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies have tied into social gaming giant Zynga, in a cross promotion with the new Rango film, the firms said this morning. According to the firms, they will integrate into a new quest for the Zynga game FrontierVille, as part of an advertising push for the debut his Friday of Rango. GoToMyPC Hits iPad
GoToMyPC, the popular remote access software-as-a-service from Santa Barbara-based Citrix Online, has hit the Apple iPad, the company said today. Citrix said its software, which allows users to access their Mac or PC remotely, is now available on the App Store, allowing users to access files, programs, and resources on their computers from the iPad. Vitesse To Return To NASDAQ
In what has been a six year saga, Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor, the maker of networking and communications ICs, is returning to the NASDAQ Global Market. The firm announced the move this morning, saying that it has been approved for listing on the NASDAQ Global Market on March 2nd. Vitesse was delisted by the Nasdaq in 2006 after it--along with a slew of other technology firms--was caught up in a stock options backdating scandal. DTS Deploys With Panasonic
Calabasas-based DTS, the provider of audio encoding technology, said today that Panasonic Corporation is integrating its audio technology into a new series of plasma and LCD televisions in Europe. DTS said the new line of plasma and LCD televisions will launch in spring, and is the first time Panasonic has adopted its DST 2.0 + Digital Out into its televisions. financial details of the deal were not announced.

LiveOffice Wins Financial Services Firm
Torrance-based LiveOffice, the provider of cloud-based email archiving services, reported this morning that it has signed American Portfolios Financial Services as a customer. LiveOffice said the win includes implementation of its products across 300-plus branches at the independent broker-dealer. Financial terms of the win were not announced. Tech Coast Angels Names Napoli Chairman
The Tech Coast Angels, the largest angel investment group in Southern California, officially announced that Mike Napoli has taken the position of Chairman at the firm today. Napoli has been a member since 2000, and replaces Richard Sudek. Napoli is the founder and chairman of Absolute Return Group, and has previously served as President and Chief Investment Officer at Wilshire Associate's Funds Management Division and Hedge Funds Group.
