LegalZoom, Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Team Up
Los Angeles-based Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. and Glendale-based LegalZoom have linked up their efforts in the small business market, the firms said this week, via a strategic alliance. According to the two companies, LegalZoom will provide business customers with access to business consultation services from Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. Malauzai Lands $1.3M For Mobile Banking
Calabasas-based Malauzai, a new startup focused on mobile banking applications, has raised $1.3M in a funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm today. No details on the funding have been announced. The firm's board includes executives from Digital Insight, the local online banking software firm acquired in 2006 by Intuit. Malauzai is headed by Tom Shen, who was formerly EVP of Product, Engineering and Operations for Digital Insight.

Genomatica Raises $45M
San Diego-based Genomatica, a developer of sustainable chemical technology, announced today that it has raised another $45M in funding. The firm said the funding was led by VantagePoint Venture Partners; Bright Capital, a Russian venture investment firm; and Waste Management. Prior investors Alloy Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Mohr Davidow Ventures and TPG Biotech also participated. Confident Technologies Gets $3.9M
San Diego-based Confident Technologies, the developer of CAPTCHA security software headed by Curtis Staker, the former President of WebSense, has raised $3.9M in a funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm today. Lunch.com Launches New Community Feature
Los Angeles-based Lunch.com, the online review site headed by J.R. Johnson, has launched a new, community feature which allows third party website and blogs to host and provide communities on their own sites. The firm said the new, Lunch Network lets blogs and websites create their own, interest-based communities, which tap into the content and information from Lunch.com's website. Paperlinks Launches QR Codes For Business

Los Angeles-based Demand Media, the online publishing firm headed by Richard Rosenblatt, along with food and cooking celebrity Rachel Ray, said this morning that they are in a multi-year, exclusive partnership to develop co-branded content in the food category. Sorenson Media Launches New Encoding Product

On Assignment Completes Valesta Buy
Calabasas-based On Assignment, the publicly held provider of life sciences and technology temporary help, said this morning that it has completed its acquisition of Valesta, a European provider of specialized clinical research staffing. The deal had originally been announced in December. Valest is based in Mechelen, Belgium.

RFaxis Gets Design Win
Irvine-based RFaxis, which develops RF front end ICs, said Monday that it has scored a win with a PCI-E mini card from Gemtek Technology Co. Ltd. Financial details of the design win were not disclosed. RFaxis said its RFX2402 RF front end ICs are being used as part of a Wi-Fi 3x4 MIMO card being designe dfor a French telecom company. RFaxis is headed by Mike Neshat.
