Amazon Threatens To Cut California Affiliates
E-commerce giant Amazon.com has told the California Board of Equalization that it would cut ties to its California affiliates, if any of four bills looking to force Internet retailers to collect sales tax are passed. According to Amazon it would be "compelled to end its advertising relationships" with over 10,000 California-based participants in Amazon Associates, its affiliate program, if any of those new tax collection bills are passed. Border Stylo Lands $3.5M
Los Angeles-based Border Stylo, the developer of Write On Glass, software which allows you to share comments on any web page, chat with friends, and others all through Firefox and Chrome browsers, has scored $3.5M in a funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm this week. The company, which is headed by Oscar Guido, appears to be in the midst of a $10M fund raising effort.

Clicker Acquired By CBS Interactive
Los Angeles-based Clicker.com, the provider of a guide to online video, has been acquired by CBS Interactive, the firms said Friday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to CBS Interactive, Jim Lanzone, co-founder and CEO of Clicker, will become President of CBS Interactive, and oversee all of CBS Interactive's operations worldwide. NASA Satellite Fails To Reach Orbit
Any Southern California residents watching the launch of NASA's Glory satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base early this morning: yes, that was a failed mission. NASA said that the satellite, an Earth-observing satellite intended to improve understanding of how the sun is affected by atmospheric aerosols and climate, failed to reach orbit. Palomar Ventures Boosts MyBuys
Santa Monica-based venture capital firm Palomar Ventures has re-upped its investment in Redwood City-based MyBuys, a provider of marketing personalization and recommendations software. According to MyBuys, it has raised $20M in a third round of financing. The round was led by Rho Ventures, and included continued participation from Palomar Ventures and Lightspeed Ventures. Palomar's Amanda Reed sits on the board of MyBuys.
