Hulu To Donate $250K In Revenue, Ads To Japan Relief
Los Angeles-based Hulu, the online streaming video site for television, movie, and other content, said last night that it is donating $50,000 its revenues plus donating $200,000 in ad inventory toward relief for victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. Hulu said it will be donating $50,000 form programming across its Japanese content, coming from its share of revenue, towards the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund. Report: Websense On The Block
San Diego-based Websense is reportedly considering a sale of the company, according to a report this week in the Wall Street Journal. According to the WSJ, the firm is looking to get around $1B for the company. Websense is a provider of web filtering software. The Journal reports Websense has hired investment banking firm Qatalyst Partners on the sale.

AeroVironment Gets EV Win In Hawaii
Monrovia-based AeroVironment has scored an electrical vehicle win in the State of Hawaii, according to an announcement from Hawaii Lt. Governor Brian Schatz. According to the announcement, the State has selected the company to deploy up to 320, public electric vehicle charging docs statewide. The $820,000 contract comes from the Hawaii EV Ready Grants Program. The deployment will be in locations in Oaho, on the island of Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai. Teledyne Buys Majority Stake In Nova Sensors
Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies said this morning that it has acquired a majority interest in Solvang-based Nova Sensors. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Nova Research designs camera electronics, infrared camera systems, and integrated circuits. Teledyne said the move would bolster its involvement in infrared imaging systems for the commercial and tactical military market. GenMark Diagnostics Appoints CFO
Carlsbad-based GenMark Diagnostics, a developer of molecular diagnostic systems, said Thursday that Paul Ross has been appointed as its Chief Financial Officer. Ross joins from Teledata Technology Solutions, and also has been at Meade Instruments Corp., Power-One, BP/Atlantic Richfield Co., and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Disney Interactive Snags SVP From Yahoo
Burbank-based Disney Interactive Media Group announced yesterday that it has named Mark L. Walker as Senior Vice President of Disney.com. Walker joins the firm from Yahoo! News and information, where he headed up the online news site. Walker also previously served as Vice President of Business Development for Yahoo! Media, and served at investment firm Oceanix Ventures, among other positions in the entertainment industry.

TeleSign Names EMEA Head
Marina del Rey-based TeleSign, which provides phone authentication and verification services, said Thursday that it as added Craig Whitney as its Vice President, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
