Zadspace Raises $3.2M
El Segundo-based Zadspace, the developer of on-package advertising products, announced this week that it has raised $3.2M in a funding round. The round came from Connecticut Innovation and DFJ Frontier, along with Crosscut Ventures, LaunchCapital, Cava Capital Ventures and The Gideon Hixon Fund. As part of the funding, the firm said it is moving its headquarters to Norwalk, Connecticut, which it says is "a hub of the direct marketing community".

Fisker Starts Production In Finland
A report today says that Irvine-based Fisker Automotive, the developer of electric vehicles, has started limited production of its Karma plug-in hybrid in Finland. According to the report, the first cars are expected to be used as demonstration models at dealers. The report first came via the Green Car Advisor blog at Edmunds.com, citing an interview with company spokesperson Roger Ormisher. The firm has said it will start production delivery in October.

ThisNext Adds MySpace's Jones To Board
Santa Monica-based ThisNext, the women's social shopping site run by Matt Edelman, said today that it has added Mike Jones, the CEO of MySpace, to its board of directors. Jones also sits on the boards of Docstoc, GumGum, MoVoxx, and others. ThisNext is focusing in on providing social shopping and content for women. The firm owns the StyleHIve fasion site, in addition to the ThisNext site.

Color's SoCal Connection: Peter Pham
Palo Alto-based Color, the new Silicon Valley startup developing mobile photo sharing and social networking software which appears to have gained unprecedented attention from the press this week at its launch, has a Southern California connection. The firm said yesterday that it raised $41M in funding from Bain Capital Ventures, Sequoia Capital and Silicon Valley Bank, and garnered overwhelming coverage in a frenzy by the technology press. United Online In Big Memory Lane Push
Woodland Hills-based United Online is launching a big push of its newly renamed Memory Lane business. According to the firm and Santa Monica-based production firm Optimus, United Online is launching a national advertising spot focused on the newly renamed and refocused nostalgia business. Razer Expands In Texas
Carlsbad-based Razer, the developer of video gaming accessories, said Thursday that it has opene dup an office in Austin, Texas. Razer said that it has opened up an Austin Technical Research Center to help develop new technologies for the firm. Size and details of the new office were not announced. Razer develops gaming keyboards, mice, gaming controllers, and other accessories focused on videogamers.
