Central Desktop Adds New Social Features
Pasadena-based Central Desktop said Tuesday that it has added new social features as part of its online project and collaboration platform. The firm said it has added polls and online presence detection to its suite of tools. Central Desktop's software-as-a-service is used for managing projects and connecting with co-workers and clients. OnGreen Partners With Chinese Province
Pasadena-based OnGreen, the clean technology marketplace firm run by Nikhil Jain, has inked a partnership with a Chinese province for an investor roadshow. The firm said that the Jiangsu Department of Commerce is promoting and w8ill be bringing investors to OnGreen's Chinese roadshow, which will include major public and private investors from Jiangsu. Total Immersion Launches New Product
Los Angeles-based Total Immersion, the developer of augmented reality software headed by Bruno Uzzan, said Tuesday that it has launched a new e-commerce product called TryLive. The firm said the new product allows online shoppers to virtually "try on" products like eyewear, jewelry, watches, and headphones. The product uses web camera images and face recognition and tracking technology to overlay virtual images of products on e-commerce shoppers. Genomatica Claims Milestone
San Diego-based Genomatica, the venture-backed developer of sustainable chemical technology, said this morning that it has achieved demonstration-scale fermentation using its process, on schedule. The firm--which is developing a renewable process for creating 1,4-butenediol, a widely used industrial chemical--said the milestone will validate the design and basic engineering package for construction of its first commercial-scale plant. FunnelSource Rolls Out New App
Los Angeles-based FunnelSource, the sales pipeline and performance management software developer headed by John Hanna, said today that it has rolled out a new application. The firm said its new FunnelRace software provides a sales performance, leaderboard application for Salesforce CRM. The new app allows sales organizations to create competitions which does either individuals or team sales progress. The firm said the new app is aimed to help motivate and incentivize sales teams.

SpaceX Gets Launch Contract In Asia
Hawthorne-based SpaceX, the commercial rocket firm of Elon Musk, said this morning that it has been chosen by Thai satellite company THAICOM Plc., to launch a new telecommunications satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit from Cape Canaveral. SpaceX did not say how much the contract is worth, but said the satellite will launch in the second quarter of 2013. Kofax Snags $500K Contract
Irvine-based Kofax, the developer of document automation systems, said today that it has won an deal worth more than $500,000. The firm said it will provide its invoice processing solutions to an un-named, "leading global supplier" to the original equipment manufacturing market. Kofax said its customer provides products and services to manufacturers in the automotive, commercial vehicle, marine and other industries, to process over 900,000 invoices annually.

Shopatron Wins Giant Bicycles
San Luis Obispo-based Shopatron, the developer of e-commerce software, revealed this morning that it has won a deal with Giant, the bicycle manufacturer. Shopatron said Giant's Canadian arm has partnered with the firm to allow customers to purchase cycling accessories online. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed.
