Classmates.com Hit By Trademark Suit
Classmates International, the unit of Woodland Hills-based United Online which has recently been transitioning from a service to find old classmates and associates into one focused on nostalgic memories under the name MemoryLane, has been hit by a trademark suit. The suit was filed by Memory Lane Inc., alleging "false designation of origin and unfair competition" over the phrase "Memory Lane". MarketShare Adds Analytics VP
Los Angeles-based MarketShare, the provider of predictive marketing analytics software, said Friday that it has named Dirk Beher, Ph.D. as its SVP of Analytics and Modeling. Beyer joins the firm from DemandTec, and has also served at M-Factor and Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. The company said the addition of Beyer will help the firm develop new solutions.

OneLogin Gets $1.5M For Identity Software
Los Angeles-based OneLogin, a new startup tackling the identity and access management software market, said Friday that it has raised $1.5M in a Series A funding round. The round came from Charles River Ventures, and existing investor in the company. The firm said the funding will go towards engineering, sales, and product development. Clearstone Tops CalPERS IRR List
CalPERS (the California Public Employees' Retirement System), one of the biggest limited partners in venture capital funds, has released its best and worst performing venture capital and private equity funds as of December 31st, showing that two Southern California venture funds were tops in terms of internal rates of return (IRR). MindJolt's SGN Launches New Game
Los Angeles-based MindJolt, the social gaming firm run by former MySpace founder Chris DeWolfe, said today that SGN, its newly acquired mobile, social gaming business, has released its first title since being acquired by the company in April. SGN said it has released Mini Cafe for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The new game--available for free download--allows game players to create, design, and manage their own "virtual restaurant". CityGrid Media Launches APIs
West Hollywood-based CityGrid Media, the unit of IAC which operates CitySearch, Insider Pages, and Urbanspoon, said Thursday that it has rolled out three new advertising APIs for developers. The firm said its new Mobile Ads API, Web Ads API, and Custom Ads API will allow web and mobile developers to get paid for featuring local businesses in their applications. VIZIO Enters LED Lighting Market
Irvine-based VIZIO, the maker of LCD HDTVs, is again expanding into a new market, saying today that it has launched into the LED Lighting market. The firm said it will be rolling out a collection of LED lighting products in Q4, offering up new, high performance, energy saving, LED bulbs.
