Getty Gets Google Goggles
Those visitors you see wandering around the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles with their smartphones? They might not checking Facebook or surfing the web--they might be just be getting a smart phone tour of the art. Google said Monday afternoon that the museum has just gone high tech with its displays, with a new link to Google's "Google Goggles" mobile app. According to Google, its app now allows users to take a photo of any of the paintings in the Getty's permanent collection, and instantly (More info...)

MindBody Software Raises $9.0M More
San Luis Obispo-based MindBody Software, the developer of software for managing yoga, pilates, wellness community, and spa and retreats businesses, has raised nearly $9.0M in a new funding round. The disclosure came via a regulatory filing from the firm. Source of the new funding was not disclosed, however, the firm has previously raised capital from Bessemer Venture Partners, Catalyst Investors, Tech Coast Angels, Pasadena Angels, and Frontera Capital. RightSignature, Customer Sued By RPost
Santa Barbara-based RightSignature, the provider of electronic signature services, as well as one of its customers--Farmers Insurance--has just been sued by competing electronic signature service RPost. According to a filing with the Texas Eastern District Court, RPost claims patent infringement over 4 different patents owned by the company. The lawsuit---Rmail Limited et al v. Xirrus Names New Marketing Head
Thousand Oaks-based Xirrus, the developer of wireless networking equipment, said today that it has named Steven Wastie as its Chief Marketing Officer. Wastie has previously served in similar roles at iPass, Juniper Networks, Inktomi, Netscaape, and At&T Online Services. Xirrus said Wastie will be responsible for the firm's global marketing and product management activities. Miven Re-Ups On ViVOtech
Irvine-based Miven Ventures, the venture capital arm of Victor Tsao, the founder of Linksys, has re-upped its investments in a near field communications (NFC) firm, ViVOtech. ViVOtech, which is based in Santa Clara, said it raised $24M in a Series C financing exptension. The round included new investors Singapore EDBI, SingTel Innov8, and Motorola Solutions Venture Capital. Boingo Partners With Gogo
Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless, the provider of a network of Wi-Fi access points, and in-flight wireless provider Gogo said today that they are in a partnership. The two said that Boingo customers can now log into Gogo using their existing Boingo account. Boingo Wireless offers up a unified billing and access service to a network of Wi-Fi access point providers; however, the new, inflight service is not included in regular monthly plans. Ivantis Scores $17M For Glaucoma Treatments
Irvine-based Ivantis, a developer of medical devices for the treatment of glaucoma, announced today that it has raised $17M in a new, second round of funding. The round came from New Enterprise Associates and Delphi Ventures. Ivantis said it will use the new funding to expand clinical activities. Ivantis develops a medical device used to treat primary open angle glaucoma.

Nirvanix Grabs Google Exec
San Diego-based Nirvanix, the developer of cloud storage services, has snagged Google's former Head of Global Data Center Infrastructure, the firm said today. Nirvanix said it has appointed Paul Froutan as its Chief Technology Officer, reporting to President and CEO Scott Genereux. Local.com Expands Deal With AT&T Interactive
Irvine-based Local.com, the local search and publishing provider, disclosed this morning that it has expanded a strategic distribution agreement with AT&T Interactive. Financial details of the deal were not announced. Local.com said that AT&T Interactive's YP.com advertiser listings will be given premier placement on Local.com's search results pages.

OSI Systems Gets $3M Contract
Hawthorne-based OSI Systems, the developer of specialized electronics products for the security and healthcare industry, reported today that it has won a $3M contract from a New Jersey health system customer. The award went to its healthcare division, Spacelabs Healthcare, for a patient monitoring system.
