3ality Digital Buys Element Technica
Burbank-based 3ality Digital, the provider of 3D production technology and services, said Wednesday that it has acquired Element Technica, a manufacturer of motorized 3D camera rigs. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. 3ality Digital said it has become 3ality Technica with the acquisition. The firm also explained that it will be expanding as a part of the combination of the firms, at its headquarters in Burbank.

Google's $500M Pharmacy Forfeit Sheds Light On Issues At Demand Media's eNom
The forfeiture of $500M in revenues by Google to the the U.S. Department of Justice Wednesday, over the use of Google's AdWords to advertise Canadian pharmacies, has shed some light on the types of issues that were facing Santa Monica-based eNom, the domain name registration and wholesaler owned by Demand Media, last year. Solarflare Targets Wall Street With New Product
Irvine-based Solarflare, the developer of 10GbE networking adapters, is sharpening its focus on the financial industry, saying Wednesday that it has launched a new product aimed specifically at the high frequency trading network market. Solarflare said its newest, low-latency 10GbE server adapter includes clock and timing functions which are a "thousand times more precise" than other network time products. Joost Debuts New Video Ad Unit
Santa Monica-based Joost Media, the video advertising arm of Adconion Media Group, said Wednesday that it has launched a new, interactive pre-roll video product it calls j-Roll. The company said the new ad format provides all the features and functionality of a website within an ad unit, including ability to play games, print coupons, view images, view store locators, and more. Inogen Gets Debt Financing
Santa Barbara-based Inogen, a manufacturer of oxygen therapy products for the home healthcare industry, has scored a $6M credit facility, according to Square 1 Bank. Terms of the credit facility were not announced. Inogen develops home oxygen concentrators, which are used to supply oxygen to patients with pulmonary diseases such as COPD, who otherwise would need to use oxygen canisters.

Genomatica Files For IPO
San Diego-based Genomatica, a developer of renewable chemicals technology, has filed for an IPO, saying today that it is looking to raise up to $100M in an IPO on the Nasdaq Global Market. Genomatica said it has applied to list under the symbol "GENO". The firm's IPO is being underwritten by Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Jeffries, Piper Jaffray, and Raymond James. Awarepoint Pulls In $27M More
San Diego-based Awarepoint, the developer of real-time, location systems for the healthcare market, announced this morning that it has raised $27M in new financing, as part of a Series F round. The round was led by new investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. The company said that other investors in the round included TopTier Capital Partners, a new investor, plus existing investors Cardinal Partners, Venrock, and Jafco Ventures. VIZIO Ties Tablet To Hulu Plus
Irvine-based VIZIO, the maker of LCD HDTVs and other electronics products, said today that it has linked its new VIZIO 8" Tablet with the Hulu Plus subscription service. VIZIO said its tablet can now stream TV and film content from Hulu's premium service. VIZIO Tablet owners will need to have a $7.99 a month Hulu Plus subscription in order to access the content. Zogenix Plans Follow-On Offering
San Diego-based Zogenix, the developer of delivery systems for administering pain medication, is planning a follow on offering of its stock. According to an S-1 filed by the firm today, it is selling 12M shares of its common stock, and is looking to raise as much as $47.47M in its offering. Zogenix is listed on the Nasdaq Global Market as ZGNX. Earlybirdr Takes on Event Discounts
A new site, Earlybirdr, is looking to apply the online coupon codes model to events in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco. The new site is the brainchild of John Diep, the organizer of the Los Angeles Schmoozd technology events. The site offers up special codes and discounts to a variety of technology-focused events, allowing users to share discount codes, and vote up and down whether those discounts work.
