Amgen Backs Therapeutic Antibody Firm
Thousand Oaks-based biotech giant Amgen has backed a developer of therapeutic antibodies, via its venture capital arm, Amgen Ventures. According to Seattle-based Theraclone Sciences, Amgen Ventures was one of the investors in a $10.6M, Series B extension round for the company. Theraclone is developing therapeutic antibodies for treating infectious disease and cancer. SOS Online Backup Gets $3M
Los Angeles-based SOS Online Backup, a developer of cloud-based online backup and data protection services, said Thursday afternoon that it has raised $3M in a Series A funding round. The round came from Splashpoind Investors. The firm said the funding brings its total raised since launch to $10M. SOS Online Backup was founded by Ken Shaw, and first launched its services in 2006. The firm said the funding will go towards future product offerings.

Slacker Links With Automotive Music Service
San Diego-based Slacker, the personalized Internet radio service, has inked a deal with an automotive audio device from electronics firm HARMAN, the two firms announced Thursday. The two said that Aha by HARMAN and Slacker are in a partnership, which will bring Slacker's personal radio and on-demand music services into cars. Bizzy Connects With Foursquare
Bizzy, the social recommendations site owned by Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal, reported today that it has connected its mobile apps directly with the popular Foursquare check in service. Bizzy said it has updated both its iPhone and Android apps, so that foursquare accounts are now directly linked to Bizzy accounts. The firm said today that it has added a new, used car inventory search tool, which will help car buyers shop for and compared used vehicles in their local areas. Echoecho Raises $750K
Santa Monica- and London-based Echoecho, which is developing a service to provide location information to your friends via a mobile application, announced today that it has raised $750,000 in a seed funding round. Active.com Teams With Best Buy
San Diego-based Active.com, the online fitness and sports site run by Active Network, said today that it has inked a deal with Best Buy, to offer up fitness plans at Best Buy's Chicago area stores. RealD Wins Another Chinese Deal
Los Angeles-based RealD, the provider of 3D theater projection technology, has signed another Chinese theater chain, the company reported today. RealD said it has signed an agreement with SHIMAO Cinema Investment Company Limited, to install its technology in 100 cinema screens in China. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed.
