MobileCause Powers Fundraiser For Texas Fire Victims
Los Angeles-based MobileCause, the provider of mobile fundraising and CRM tools for the nonprofit sector, said this week that it is powering a mobile fundraising effort by the United Way of Texas. MobileCause said its services are being used to raise funds for the victims of the wildfires in Central Texas. MobileCause said that mobile users can text "WILDFIRE" to 85944 to donate $10 to the United Way of Texas Wildfire Relief fund, which is added to a donor's mobile bill. GameSalad Improves Support Tools
Los Angeles-based and Austin-based GameSalad, which develops software to easily create iPhone and other iOS platform games, announced earlier this week that it has improved its overall communications and support tools for its users. TrueCar Names CMO
Santa Monica-based TrueCar, the publisher of real-time automotive pricing information headed by Scott Painter, said yesterday afternoon that it has appointed Todd Daum as Chief Marketing Officer. LA Looks To Prove It's A Social Media Mecca
Los Angeles is looking to prove it is a center of the social media universe next week, with a roster of events for Social Media Week Los Angeles. Local.com Names Operations VP
Irvine-based Local.com, which operatea a network of local business directory and marketing sites, said today that it has named Bob Iguchi as Vice President of Operations at the company. Iguchi most recently ran his own high tech sales and service consulting firm, serving clients Intruvert Networks, Senforce Technologies, and Brightmail Technologies. Local.com said Iguchi has previously also served at Cisco Systems and Software Publishing Corporation.

MeFeedia Updates Android App
Burbank-based MeFeedia, the online video guide site run by Frank Sinton, said Thursday that it has updated its Android app. According to the firm, it has improved thumbnails and layout on the software, expanded the number of devices it supports, as well as increased the amount of content in categories. The firm also recently updated its iPhone application with similar features.
