MeFeedia Extends To iPad
Burbank-based MeFeedia, the online video guide site, is on a mobile app roll, announced Thursday that it has launched a new, iPad version of its app. MeFeedia said its new app, MeFeedia for iPad, allows users to browse and find videos from a variety of sources, and includes such features as saving videos for watching later, posting videos to Twitter and Facebook accounts, and more. Emulex Ordered To Pay Broadcom In Patent Trial
Costa Mesa-based Emulex reported Thursday afternoon that it has been ordered to pay $387,922 to Irvine-based Broadcom, in a partial verdict in a patent infringement lawsuit. Emulex said that a partial verdict was reached in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, which found that certain serial/deserializers used by Emulex infringed upon patents owned by Broadcom. GoodThreads Powers Susan G. Komen for the Cure Los Angeles
Los Angeles-based GoodThreads, the new, social good startup started by Brandon Hance, is powering an event for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Los Angeles County group's upcoming March event, according to the local nonprofit. The Susan G. GameFly Gets Social With Android App
Los Angeles-based GameFly, the online video game rental subscription service, said this morning that it has connected its online social network for gamers with its GameFly App for Android. Avalon Ventures Backs TwinStrata
La Jolla-based venture capital investor Avalon Ventures is the lead in a round for cloud data storage firm TwinStrata, TwinStrata said today. TwinStrata, which is based in Masachusetts, said that Avalon lead its Series B funding round, which was worth $8M. Avalon's investment in TwinStrata was headed by Rich Levandov. Central Desktop Enhances Project Management Features
Los Angeles-based Central Desktop, the provider of cloud-based, project management and business collaboration tools that is headed by Isaac Garcia, said today that it has launched a new set of project management features on the service. Central Desktop said the updates include support for Gantt charts, resource tracking, features to compare budget versus actual time on projects, and more. Local.com Launches New iPhone, Android Daily Deals Apps
Irvine-based Local.com said today that it has launched two, mobile applications for the iPhone and Android, for its Spreebird daily deals business. According to Local.com, the new apps run on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android phones, and allow users to browse, buy, and redeem the various Spreebird offers. The new apps are free. Local.com said its Spreebird daily deals service is now in 14 markets nationwide. Local.com launched its Spreebird daily deals service in May.

QAD Deploys In Poland
Santa Barbara-based QAD the developer of manufacturing process control software, reported today that a Polish manufacturer, GEA Technika Cieplna Sp. z.o.o., has deployed its applications for one of its factories. QAD said that GEA, a manufacturer of heat exchangers, is using its software to simplify and streamline its plan in Opole, Poland. Financial impact of the win was not announced.

AdColony Launches Mobile Video Service
Los Angeles-based AdColony, the mobile video ad network operated by Jirbo, said Wednesday that it has launched a new, self-serve HD video ad platform targeted at mobile devices. Jirbo said its new AdColony Express product allows marketers to upload and submit their own video ad campaigns on iPhone, iPad, and the iPod Touch. Jirbo said its version of AdColony Express for Google Android is in private beta. Jirbo is headed by Will Kassoy, which is venture backed by Insight Venture Partners.
