Eucalyptus, RightScale Get Joint Customer
Santa Barbara-based cloud deployment firms Eucalyptus Systems and RightScale have signed a joint customer, the firms said Tuesday. The two said that InterContinental Hotels Group and Beijing UnGeo Information Technology Co., Ltd. are using a combined solution from the companies, to launch and manage their own private and hybrid clouds. Financial details of the wins were not disclosed.

ReachLocal Sees International Growth
Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal, which helps small and medium sized businesses place online advertising, released its results Tuesday afternoon, reporting a net loss of $4.6M on revenues of $98.6M. The firm saw an overall, 28 percent growth in its revenues from year to year, with particular growth in international markets. NewEgg Ties With Chinese Province
City of Industry-based Newegg, the online electronics and computer retailer, announced a deal yesterday with China's Yunnan Province. NewEgg has inked a partnership with the Yunnan Province Department of Commerce in China, to sell products from merchants in the province. Among the most visible products: coffee. Boingo Wireless Extends In Japan
Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless, the Wi-fi hotspot operator, said today that it has extended its network in Japan, via a deal with Wire and Wireless (Wi2). Boingo said the deal allows Boingo's customers to access more than 3,000 hotspots throughout Japan, including a network of buses and limousines in that country. Financial details of the deal were not announced. Boingo said it now has access to more than 150,000 hotspots in the Asia Pacific region.

Adobe Buys UCLA Startup Auditude
Adobe Systems said today that it has acquired Auditude, a provider of video ad management and monetization technology. Auditude, although now based in Palo Alto, had originally been developed for a UCLA MBA business plan competition, by Nicholas Seet. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Seet founded Auditude for the KNAPP competition at UCLA, while he was at the UCLA Anderson School of Management at its fully employed MBA program.

CapLinked Hits $10B In Deals
Manhattan Beach-based CapLinked, the online service which helps private companies manage their investors and funding rounds, said that it has just surpassed $10 billion in private deals managed through the site since its launch earlier this year. The firm said the deals came through the over 8,000 companies using its site, and 90,000 accounts on the service. Lumeo Launches Pro Video Learning Site
Santa Monica-based Lumeo, a new startup aimed at helping members learn how to shoot professional videos, said today that it has launched its service. The new site allows users to watch videos and learn from professionals, via short video tutorials. The site's first set of educational videos comes from surf photographer Art Brewer. Membership to the site is free, with an advertising-free premium level also available. Lumeo is headed by Brian McDonough.

ImaginAB Gets $2.3M
Los Angeles-based ImagineAb, a spinout of UCLA which is developing diagnostic imaging technology, reported Monday that it has been awarded $2.3M in funding, from the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The company said the funding will go to help further develop diagnostic imaging agents for Positron Emission Tomography (PET). ImagineAB was founded in 2007 by three UCLA faculty. Spotlight Ticket Management Signs Penske
Calabasas-based Spotlight Ticket Management, the developer of software for managing corporate ticket and suites, reports today that it has been selected by Penske Truck Leasing for managing its suite and ticket assets. Mindspeed Takes On the Connected Home
Newport Beach-based chipd eveloper Mindspeed is aiming at the connected home market with a new product, the firm said today. Mindspeed said it has extended its its Comcerto 1000 family of SoC processors with functions specifically aiming at set-top-box and multi-function broadband home routers. The semiconductor maker said its new chips are being used by equipment manufacturers--including ZyXEL--for DSL, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and cable applications.

MyLife Takes On Unified Social Network Management
Los Angeles-based MyLife.com, the online people search service headed by Jeff Tinsley, is launching a new service today aimed at helping users manage their multiple social networks.
