Friday, November 4, 2011Panasonic Avionics Wins United ContinentalLake Forest-based Panasonic Avionics, which is the Orange County-based subsidiary of Japanese electronics firm Panasonic Corp., has been selected to provide Wi-Fi on over 300 aircraft for United Continental, United Continental said Friday. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. United says it expects to debut Wi-Fi on its fleet on more than 300 United Airlines and Continental Airlines mainline aircraft beginning in mid-2012. Woo Media Sold To ZooskWoo Media, the operator of the online dating site WooMe.com, has been acquired by San Francisco-based Zoosk, the company said Thursday. Woo Media--which had offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and London--did not disclose financial terms of the deal. Woo Media was venture backed by Atomico Investments, Index Ventures, Mangrove Capital Partners, Klaus Hommels and Oliver Jung.

ReachLocal Looks To Buy Back $20M In SharesWoodland Hills-based ReachLocal, the firm which helps small and medium sized businesses place online advertising, said today that it has approved a $20M, share repurchase program. SRS Labs Names Accounting HeadSanta Ana-based SRS Labs, the developer of surround sound and other audio technology, said this morning that it has named Maria Oppegard its Chief Accounting Officer. Oppegard was previously Corporate Controller at the company, and has been at the firm since 2005.
