Acacia Buys ADAPTIX For $160M
Newport Beach-based patent licensing firm Acacia Research said today that one of its subsidiaries has acquired ADAPTIX, a developer of 4G wireless technology, for $160M. ADAPTIX holds 230 issued and pending patents in 13 countries, focused on 4G technology such as OFDMA and MIMO. Acacia acquires patent portfolios, and then licenses those patents to companies. Rubicon Project Taps Barnum As New COO, CFO
Los Angeles-based Rubicon Project, the online advertising optimization technology provider headed by Frank Addante, said this morning that it has named Brian Barnum as its Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, as well as appointed Mark Torres as Senior Vice President of People and Culture. Telcentris Names Rees President
San Diego-based Telcentris, which develops voice-over-IP and other voice systems for business, said this week that it has named Cliff Rees as President of the firm. Rees was most recently at Leading Edge Communications, XCast Labs, GlobalTouch Telecom, as well as Telegroup. The firm said Rees will oversee operations, sales, business development, and product management. PK4 Media Buys JSFour
Culver City-based PK4 Media, an online video advertising network operator, said Thursday that it has acquired JSFour, a fellow video ad technology firm. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. The companies said the two have been working together on an advanced video distrbution platform.
