California Uses $120M Energy Settlement For Electric Car Charging Network
The State of California announced Friday that it is using $120M, received in a legal settlement with a subsidiary of Dynegy Inc., to help build out a network of electric car charging stations across the state. According to Governor Brown's office, the settlement--which resulted from a ten-year-old claim for costs of long term power contracts signed in March of 2001 with NRG--will go towards funding the construction of a statewide network of charging stations for zero-emissions vehicles. LuxeYard Names Tony Winders EVP
Los Angeles-based LuxeYard, the flash sales site headed by Braden Richter, said Friday morning that it has named Tony Winders as its Executive Vice President of Revenue. Winders was most recently VP of Marketing at ValueClick Media, and also had served at Search123. Tony also co-founded interactive Agency (iAgency). LuxeYard operates a members only flash sales site focused on luxury home furnishings, decor and fashion.

Hulu Plus Expands Device Support
Los Angeles-based Hulu is continuing to build out its list of supported devices for its subscription, Hulu Plus service, the firm said late Thursday. According to Hulu, its service is now available on Toshiba 2012 Blu-ray players, Sharp 2012 TVs and Best Buy's Dynex Blu-ray players. Users of all of those devices can now sign up for Hulu Plus directly from those players. The premium Hulu Plus subscription costs $7.99, and gives broader access to episodes of television shows to users.

RTI Electronics Acquired By API Technologies
Anaheim-based RTI Electronics, a provider of passive electronic components, including thermistors, film capacitors, magnetic transformers and inductors, has been acquired in an asset deal, according to Orlando, Florida-based API Technologies. API Technologies said it paid $2.3M in cash for RTI's assets. RTI had revenues of approximately $4M in 2011.
