Newegg Names CFO
City of Industry-based electronics e-commerce retailer Newegg said Monday that it has named Harry Amsden as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Amsden joins the firm from the Tribune Company, where he was Senior Vice President of Financial Operations. Amsden also has served in a variety of other positions for the Tribune Company, the Orlando Sentinel, and Arthur Andersen. Privately held Newegg is one of the largest online e-commerce retailers in the electronics segment.

Fisker Automotive Expands In Middle East
Anaheim-based electric car maker Fisker Automotive said Monday afternoon that it has signed a deal with a Middle Eastern automotive distributor, boosting sits efforts in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA). Fisker said it has signed an exclusive agreement with the Al-Futtaim Group to distribute its vehicles through key retailers operated by the group. BetterWorks Adds Group, Administrative Features
Santa Monica-based BetterWorks rolled out a new set of features Monday for its service, which is used by employers to manage fringe benefit programs for their employees. Viddy Adds Celebrities To Investor Roster
Venice-based Viddy, the developer of a mobile app used to share videos over social networks, has added a number of celebrities to its list of investors. The firm--which just raised a $6M venture round in February--apparently has added celebrities Will Smith, Jeff Kearl of Roc Nation, Josh James of Omniture, Biz Stone of Twitter, Brian Lee of ShoeDazzle, Shakira, skateboarder Rob Dyrdek, among others. RealD Passes 20,000 3D Screens
Los Angeles-based RealD, the developer of 3D movie projection technology, reported this morning that it has surpassed 20,000 3D-equipped screens worldwide. The firm said it is now the "most widely used" 3D cinema technology provider. RealD said it had approximately 20,200 screens installed as of its quarter ended March 23rd.

Ticketmaster Looks To Seattle For Engineering Talent
Los Angeles-based Ticketmaster, the online ticketing service which is owned by Live Nation Entertainment, is looking north to boost its engineering talent, saying this morning that it has opened up a new software development center in Seattle. The firm, which provides tickets for live events, said it is tapping former Amazon and Microsoft veteran Cameron Etezadi and former Amazon and Expedia vet Werner Koepf to head up a new team in the city.

Stocktwits Launches Heatmaps
San Diego-based StockTwits, the investment and stock trading micromessaging service, rolled out a new feature this morning called Stocktwits Signals. The new feature creates a visual "heat map" of what users are talking about, allowing users to see what industries and stocks are seeing the most activity and interest and allowing users to click through to specific stocks they might be interested in following. StockTwits is led by Howard Lindzon, who is also known as an active angel investors.

Novatel Wireless Deploys In Puerto Rico
San Diego-based Novatel Wireless, the manufacturer of wireless modems and broadband wireless data cards and products, said this morning that it has launched two of its products with a Puerto Rico carrier. The firm said it has launched its 4G LTE MiFi 4510 hotspot and Ovation MC 551 USB modem on the network of Open Mobile, a telecommunications company serving Puerto Rico. CareFusion Divests Neurodiagnostics Business
San Diego-based CareFusion said this morning that it is selling its neurodiagnostics business to Natus Medical Incorporate, in a deal worth approximately $58M. CareFusion said its is selling off its CareFusion Nicolet business, in a cash deal, to simplify and focus its operations. Nicolet is based in Madison, Wisconsin, and had sales of approximately $95M in 2011. The business employs 400.
