Verdezyne Raises $10.6M More
Carlsbad-based Verdezyne, which is developing biotechnology used for biofuels production and chemicals manufacturing, has raised $10.6M in a new, debt funding round, according to a filing from the firm last week. Details on the funding have not been announced by the company. The filing indicates that Monitor Ventures, OVP Venture Partners, BP Alternative Energy Ltd., and DSM Venturing B.V. all continue to hold seats on the company's board of directors. Flipswap Acquired By eRecyclingCorps
Torrance-based Flipswap, which operates a consumer electronics buyback program, has been acquired by Texas-based eRecyclingCorps, the firms said today. Financial term sof the acquisition were not disclosed. eReclycpingCorps said that it has also acquired FlipSwap's interest in interest in Flipswap Services, LLC. Flipswap was venture backed by NGEN Partners and RRE Ventures.

Machinima On Verge Of Investment From Google, Says Report
Los Angeles-based content developer Machinima is on the verge of an investment deal with Google, according to a report published Monday by AllthingsD. Size and details of the funding have yet to be announced, but according to the report is expected to close within a month and be worth around $30M, valuing Machinima at around $190M post-funding. Ixia to Acquire Anue Systems For $145M
Calabasas-based network testing equipment provider Ixia said Monday morning that it has agreed to buy Anue Systems, a developer of network monitoring and test products, in a deal worth $145M in cash. Ixia said that Anue had 2011 revenues of $40.5M, with revenues of $47.6M in the twelve months ended March 31, 2012. Westlake Village-based in-flight wireless and broadband provider Row 44 reports that it has scored a win in Russia, with private airline Transaero Airlines. Topanga Technologies Launches Plasma Lighting Product
Canoga Park-based Topanga Technologies, the venture backed provider of solid state lighting products, said Friday that it has launched a new plasma light source product Friday. The company said the new solid state lighting product is aimed at street, area, architectural, and industrial lighting applications.
