Dreamhost, Morphlabs Join OpenStack Effort
Two Los Angeles cloud computing firm have joined the new Openstack Foundation, an industry group looking to promote the open cloud computing system spawned out of Rackspace. ShowUhow Turns To Video For Sales Leads
San Diego-based ShowUhow, the provider of video applications for retailers, has turned its focus to B2B companies who want to engage their customers capture leads. The firm said it has launched a new product, Reel Qualified, which it says will offer tools to engage customer prospects, capture leads, and track visitor interactions. ValueClick Sells Search123
Westlake Village-based ValueClick has divested Search213, the company's European, self-service, paid search business, the company said today. According to ValueClick, it sold Search123 to its former executive in charge of European operations, Carl White. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, however, ValueClick said the deal consists of future contingent payments based upon the performance of the business over the next four years. NantWorks' Soon-Shiong Eyes AEG
Patrick Soon-Shiong, the biotech billionaire behind local technology thinktank and investor NantWorks, has emerged as a potential bidder for AEG, the owner of the Staples Center, and part owner of the L.A. Lakers, L.A. Kings, and L.A. Galaxy, according to reports. Local Firms Makes Fortune's Fastest Growing List
A number of local, high tech firms have made Fortune Magazine's latest list of the one hundred fastest growing companies in the nation. According to the magazine, Questcor Pharmaceuticals (Anaheim) was ranked number 28, TTM Technologies (Santa Ana) was ranked at 38, Cymer (San Diego) was ranked 68, Broadcom (Irvine) was number 78, Asiainfo-Linkage was 84th, and Semtech (Camarillo) was number 88. DTS Launches Android Connected, Whole Home Audio System With Phorus Buy
