Sunday, October 7, 2012SpaceX Resupply Mission Launches SuccessfullyThe launch of the first resupply mission by SpaceX went off without a hitch on Sunday night, lifting off at 8:35 p.m. EDT from Cape Canaveral. The launch is the first under a commercial resupply contract from NASA, where SpaceX will fly at least 12 missions to the ISS through 2016. The Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX is carring 882 pounds of supplies to the ISS, and will return in ten days with a total of 1,673 pounds of supplies to earth.
