Honey Provides Chrome Users With Savings Shortcut
Are you a user of the Chrome web browser? Busy doing your holiday shopping? A newly launched, Chrome extension, Honey--developed by a Pasadena-based startup--is making it a lot easier for you to find those online coupon deals and discount codes. Honey, which installs alongside your Chrome browser, automatically looks up coupon codes for such popular e-commerce sites like Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Zulily, Target, and others. Vyclone Powers Documentary Effort
Los Angeles-based Vyclone, the developer of mobile video collaboration software, said it is powering a new effort to create a massive documentary on "the human experience". Vyclone--which creates a mobile app which makes it easy to co-create, share, and sync multiple videos--said that it is working with documentary film event "One Day on Earth", where people can record and submit their live of December 12th (12/12/12). Sonos Now Streams Music Directly From iPhone, iPad
Users of the Sonos whole-house, wireless audio systems will be happy with one of the newest features from the Santa Barbara company: the ability to stream music directly stored in a user's iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch devices to a Sonos speaker or player. Sonos rolled out the update to its software last week, making it much easier to get music stored on the various Apple devices directly to the Sonos systems. Broadcom: Study Shows Different Connectivity Personalities, Types

Amgen Buys deCODE Genetics
Thousand Oaks-based biotech Amgen is acquiring Iceland-based deCODE Genetics, in a deal worth $415M in cash, the two companies announced this morning. deCODE Genetics is a provider of human genetic research which was founded in 1996. deCODE said its genetic research will help Amgen translate its discoveries into meaningful therapies for patients. deCODE Genetics has been using studies of the Icelandic population to help uncover the specific genes and genetic risk factors in diseases.

Cohu Acquires Ismeca Semiconductor
Poway-based Cohu, the developer of test handling, burn-in, and thermal subsystems for the semiconductor testing industry, said over the weekend that it is buying Ismeca Semiconductor Holdings SA. Cohu is buying Ismeca from Schweiter Technologies AG, in a deal worth $54.5M in cash. Ismeca is based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and manufactures test handling and back-end finishing equipment for the IC, LED, and discrete component business. Verdezyne Wins Customer
Carlsbad-based Verdezyne, the developer of renewable chemical technology which is backed by BP Alternative Energy Ventures, DSM Venturing B.V., OVP Venture Partners and Monitor Ventures, has just signed a company in the polymer fiber business. According to Verdezyne, it is in a strategic relationship with Universal Fiber Systems, LLC, a provider of carpet and apparel yarns used in commercial carpets and apparel fabrics.
