Fandango Names New Marketing Head
Los Angeles-based Fandango said Monday that it has named a new Vice President of Marketing. Fandango said Adam Rockmore, who was most recently SVP of Marketing for ABC Daytime and SOAPnet, has been appointed to the position, and will lead the company's marketing group. Rockmore also has served at ABC News, the Food Network, and also served a number of other Scripps Networks' properties. ClimateMinder Acquired By Rainbird
Glendale-based ClimateMinder, one of the companies out of the VoiVoda Ventures incubator in Glendale, has been acquired by Rainbird Corp., according to VoiVoda. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. ClimateMinder developed wireless irrigation monitoring and control products, which were being applied to the agriculture industry. The company's clients had included Monsanto, Driscoll, and Bolthouse farms. VoiVoda said the exit is the fifrth for the firm in the last five years.

Hulu Revenue Rise To $695M; Tops 3M Paying Subscribers
Hulu, the online video streaming site headed by Jason Kilar, detailed its 2012 numbers today, saying that it will close the year with approximately $695M in revenues, a growth of over 65% since 2011. Lynda.com Names New CTO
Carpinteria-based Lynda.com, the online video education and tutorial site, said this morning that it has named a new CTO. The firm said it has named Frits Habermann as Chief Technology Officer of the company, to help scale out the company's infrastructure. Habermann joins Lynda.com from PopCap Games, where he was CTO and Vice President of Core Technologies. He also has served at RealNetworks, Edmark and Siemens. Verdezyne Sells Technology To DuPont
Carlsbad-based Verdezyne, the developer of industrial biotechnology and renewable chemicals, said today that it has sold its proprietary xylose isomerase technology to DuPont Industrial Biosciences. Verdezyne did not disclose financial details of the technology sale. Verdezyne said DuPont has purchased rights to its patented xylose isomerase technology, for us in the biofuels and biochemical fields. StockTwits Integrates With HootSuite
San Diego-based StockTwits said today that it has launched a new, app for HootSuite, the provider of software used for social media management. According to StockTwits, the new app and integration makes it easy for HootSuite users to post messages directly to StockTwits.com. Condusiv Technologies Launches New VM Software
Burbank-based Condusiv Technologies, the developer of utility software which was formerly known as Diskeeper Corporation, said that it has launched a new product aimed at accelerating access to virtual machines. The firm said its new product, V-locity 4, is a virtual machine accelerator aimed at VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V. According to the firm, it says its software improves performance up to 50% on all VM platforms, according to recent benchmark testing of the product.

Online local business advertising firm Local Corporation announced this morning that it has launched a new, industry-specific website focused on the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) market. The new site offers educational articles and other information aboud HVAC services, and will generate leads for local businesses.
