Playsino Debuts iPhone, iPad Bingo App
Playsino, the social casino games and app developer headed by Brock Pierce, said Tuesday that it has released iPhone and iPad versions of its Bingo World app. The free-to-play apps are on the Apple iTunes App store. Playsino, which is based in Santa Monica, is a developr of casino focused games, which are available both on mobile platforms and on sites like Facebook. Pierce is a well known investor in online gaming companies and local Southern California startups.

Nationbuilder Expands Beyond Politics
Los Angeles-based Nationbuilder, the startup developing online tools which helps organizations create web sites, organize volunteers, outreach to supporters, and more, is expanding its efforts beyond politics, the company said Tuesday. Accelerator Demo Day Season Kicks Off Tomorrow

Green Dot Takes On Mobile Banking With GoBank
Monrovia, California-based Green Dot, the prepaid payment card provider, has launched itself into the mobile banking market today, unveiling its new GoBank bank account. The firm said it designed the new, mobile banking account "from scratch", specifically aimed at the new mobile generation. Green Dot said the new accounts would not have any minimum balance requirements, would not include overdraft or penalty fees, no required monthly fees, and will allow users to depot their checks into an FDIC (More info...)

Ross Levinsohn Named Head of The Hollywood Reporter
Ross Levinsohn, the former head of Yahoo and Fox Interactive Media, has just been appointed CEO of Guggenheim Digital Media, the parent firm of The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Adweek, and other entertainment focused properties. MySpace Debuts New Timberlake Design
MySpace, the online social networking site which is now owned by Specific Media, has finally rolled out its new, Justin Timberlake-inspired web design, in conjunction with the release of a new single from Timberlake and JAY Z. Source Scientific Acquired By BIT Analytical Instruments
Irvine-based Source Scientific, a provider of outsourced engineering, manufacturing, and services for the medical and diagnostic instruments industry, has been acquired by BIT Analytical Instruments, the firms said this morning. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. BIT Analytical Instruments is based in Schwalbach, Germany. Nimble Snags Salesforce Vet
Santa Monica-based Nimble, the developer of social relationship management software, reported yesterday that it has tapped a Salesforce.com veteran to head up its content and product marketing strategy. The firm said that Alyson Stone, who formerly served in the same role at Salesforce's Desk.com division, will lead expansion of its content and education strategy.
