Monday, January 21, 2013International Rectifier's Founder, Eric Lidow Passes AwayEl Segundo-based International Rectifier, the developer of analog and mixed signal semiconductors, reports that its founder and former Chairman and CEO, Eric Lidow, has passed away. The firm said Lidow passed away on January 18th. Lidow and his father, Leon Lidow, founded International Rectifier in 1947.

Local Corporation Names Board MemberIrvine-based Local Corporation, the operator and publisher of online local business guides, announced this morning that it has appointed Frederick G. Thiel to its board. Thiel was previously Managing Partner of the Software IT Group of Triton Pacific Capital Partners, a private equity firm. Thiel has also served at Graham Partners, TechStarter Ventures, and GameSpy Industries, in addition to serving on the boards for Custom Credit Systems, DB Technology, Assetpoint, and Vayan Marketing Group.
