Boastcards, Another Photo-To-Postcard App, Launches
Did you ever wish you could turn that photo on your mobile phone into a real postcard, and send it to your friends? Another new Los Angeles-based startup, Boastcards, said this week that it has a service which do just that, letting users turn their digital photos and images into real, physical postcards. The firm recently released a mobile app for iOS doing just that, leeting users send postcards for $1.99 per postcard.

Glaukos Gets $30M For Glaucoma Treatments
Laguna Hills-based Glaukos, which is developing a medical device for treating glaucoma, said this week that it has raised $30M in a funding round. The Series F funding was led by Meritech Capital Partners, and also included Versant Ventures, Domain Associates, Montreux Equity Partners, InterWest Partners, Frazier Healthcare, OrbiMed Advisors and Gund Investment Corp. Glaukos is developing a stent which relieves eye pressure during cataract surgery.

Anametrix Names VP
Anametrix, the San Diego developer of digital marketing analytics software, said Thursday that it has hired Olivier Silvestre as its new VP of client success. Silvestre has served at Certona Corp., was a co-founder at Tealium, and also served at WebSideStory. Anametrix said that Silvestre will oversee the company's implementation and account management teams. Anametrix is venture backed by TVC Capital; the company's founders are veterans of WebSideStory.

Activision Ties With Nickelodeon On Mutant Turtles
Santa Monica-based videogame publisher Activision and Nickelodeon said Thursday that the two are in a deal to produce video games around Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Financial details of the deal between the companies were not announced. The two said that Activision has gained the global rights to produce interactive games based on a new, CG-animated version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
