Cornerstone OnDemand Joins $100M+ Club
Santa Monica-based Cornerstone OnDemand has joined the club of local high tech companies to cross the $100M in annual revenues mark, after reporting Tuesday that it had full year revenues of $117.9M, up 56 percent year to year. The publicly traded company, which provides talent and learning management software to corporations, disclosed the numbers as part of its fourth quarter and fiscal year 2012 results. SnapCuts Now Lets Users Upload Videos
Snapcuts, the Pasadena-based startup which develops a mobile video app of the same name which lets users mix and match videos to create personalized video greeting cards, has just released an update to the app, which lets users upload their own videos. Sonos Debuts New Product For HDTV
Sonos, the developer whole home, user-friendly audio systems, has debuted a new product, aimed at HDTV owners. Sonos said its new SONOS PLAYBAR was designed as a complement to home theaters, and plugs into a TV and any Sonos component. Microsoft Opens Xbox Studio In Los Angeles
Santa Monica has just gotten yet another boost in its bid to become the capital of Silicon Beach, as Microsoft said this week that it is opening up a new, 125-person strong entertainment studio in the city as part of an effort to create interactive content for the Xbox. TeleSign Acquires Routo Telecommunications
Telesign, the provider of Internet security and authentication services and tools, said today that it has acquired global SMS provider Routo Telecommunications. Financial terms of the move were not disclosed. Los Angeles-based Telesign, which is headed by serial entrepreneur Steve Jillings, said that the acquisition will help it improve its fraud prevention services. RightScale Lands $15.6M More
Santa Barbara-based RightScale, the developer of cloud computing management software headed by Michael Crandell, has raised $15.6M in a new round of funding, according to a regulatory filing by the company. Details on the funding have not yet been announced by the company. RightScale's software is used by companies to monitor, deploy, and manage their cloud applications, including both public and private clouds. WD Debuts Streaming Media Player
Irvine-based WD has debuted a new streaming video player today, called the WD TV Play. Western Digital said that its new product streams popular Internet channels from YouTube, Netflix, Hulu Plus, VUDU, and other services, in addition to streaming a user's own personal photos, music, and video. DriveCam Hits $100M In Revenues
DriveCam, the San Diego startup developing technology which analyzes and tracks the performance of commercial fleet drivers, reported this morning that it has just reached over $100M in 2012 sales. The firm said it ended 2012 with orders in excess of $100M, a growth of 50 percent in its subscription base and double the number of orders year over year. Aviir Snags $10M In Second Tranche Financing
Irvine-based Aviir, a developer of cardiovascular disease testing technology, said today that it has raised $10M in a second financing tranche, after meeting a revenue milestone. According to Aviir, the round was led by Merck Global Health Innovation Fund, and also included Partners & Partners, Bay City Capital, Aberdare Ventures, and New Leaf Venture Partners.
