Green Dot CFO To Step Down
Monrovia, California-based Green Dot, the provider of prepaid credit cards, said this week that the firm's CFO, John Keatley, will be leaving the firm in September. According to Green Dot, Keatley will be relocating his family to Sweden, his wife's original home, where he will become CFO of a Stockholm-based technology company. Green Dot said that Keatley will continue to serve full time as CFO until September 1st. Keatley had been CFO of Green Dot since 2006, before the firm's IPO.

ACTIVE Network Ties With IRONMAN
San Diego-based online, cloud-based sports and activity registration provider ACTIVE Network reported today that it has linked with IRONMAN, the sports race operator. According to the two companies, they are in a three year deal where ACTIVE will offer up race registration to IRONMAN's events. IRONMAN holds nearly 190 events worldwide across its brands. Broadcom Wins India's Karbonn Mobiles
Irvine-based chipmaker Broadcom reported a win this morning with Indian mobile phone brand Karbonn Mobiles, which it says will use its Android 4.0 platform for a new smartphone. Broadcom said that Karbonn Mobile will use its Android 4.0 platform for its A12 smartphone, which will include a 1GHZ processor, multimedia, 3G/2G dual-SIM dual standby, and more. Predixion Software Updates Platform
San Juan Capistrano-based Predixion Software, the developer of predictive analytics software headed by Simon Arkell, said Wednesday that it has updated its platform. According to the firm, the new version of its software now allows users to create applications inside Microsoft Excel and supports a much wider range of external data sources, among other updates. Local Corporation Gets $5M In PIPE
Irvine-based Local Corporation, the operator of the network of online, local directory websites, said today that it is in an agreement to raise $5M from The Tail Wind Fund Ltd. The firm said the funding will come in the form of convertible subordinated notes and warrants to purchase common stock. Local Corporation said the new funds go towards general working capital.

DriveCam Wins Florida Cab Company
San Diego-based DriveCam, the developer of driver monitoring systems, reported a win this morning in Florida. The firm said that B&L Yellow Cab of Broward County, Florida, will roll out its solutions to its fleet of 600 vehicles. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. DriveCam develops video-based driving monitoring systems used to monitor driving fleets.

LifeProof Names EMEA Director
San Diego-based smartphone and tablet case maker LifeProof announced today that it has appointed Stephen Daverio as its Managing Director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Daverio was most recently at Disruptive Group Limited, a maker of iPod accessories, and also has served at SanDisk and Logitech. LifeProof said Daverio will play a key role in expanding its presence and market share in the EMEA.
