Fandango Powers Special Feature For Visa Signature
Fandango, the movie ticketing service and mobile app provider, said Wednesday that it is powering a new, mobile ticket app feature specifically for customers of Visa. Los Angeles-based Fandango said that it has launched TIXPRESS, a new mobile ticket app feature for only Visa Signature account holders. DreamHost Readies Wider OpenStack Rollout
Los Angeles-based web and cloud hosting provider DreamHost looks to be readying its OpenStack cloud offering, DreamCompute, for wider consumption, after showing off the service at the OpenStack Summit in Portland last week. FreedomPop Expands Nationally Via Sprint
FreedomPop, the free, broadband wireless Internet company led by Stephen Stokols, said this morning that it has expanded its service via Sprint's 3G network. The company said the coverage expands its coverage nationwide. In conjunction with the expansion, the firm said it has begun accepting orders for a new, 4g/3G MiFi hotspot device. Silverpop Lands $25M In Venture Debt For Email Marketing
Silverpop, an Atlanta-based email marketing automation provider which also has operations in Irvine, said today that it has raised $25M in a venture debt funding. The funding came from Escalate Capital Partners and Silicon Valley Bank. Silverpop is venture bcaked by D.E. Shaw & Co and Draper Fisher Jurveston. EcoMom Acquired By GreenCupboards, Will Be Relaunched
Ecomom, the onetime Los Angeles green products e-retailer, which had been led by entrepreneur Jody Sherman until his untimely death earlier this year, has been acquired by fellow green products e-retailer GreenCupboards. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. According to GreenCupboards, it has acquired all of the assets of EcoMom, including its trademarks, domain names, social media, customer lists and inventory. Geni.com Integrates With Historical Records From MyHeritage
In one of the first major updates to its service since its acquisition, Geni, the Los Angeles-based family tree site, said it has started adding historical records and information to its family trees. Geni said the move comes as a result of two new features, Record Matching and SMart Matching, which helps link records from MyHeritage to its family trees. Geni was acquired by MyHeritage in November. Geni said the move will add "significant" new detail to its family tree service.

RealD Expands In Latin America
Los Angeles-based 3D technology provider RealD announced this morning that it has opened up its first office in Latin America. The firm, which provides its 3D projection technology in theaters, said it has opened up an office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The new office will be headed by Sean Spencer, and will provide sales, customer services, and operations for Latin America. Spencer joins the firm from the MOtion Picture Association and the Television Association of Programmers.

Paragon Debuts New Virtual Backup, DR Service
Irvine-based storage and backup software provider Paragon Software has rolled out a brand new, centralized backup and restore product, called Paragon Protect & Restore (PPR).
