ProBoards Looks To Revive Online Discussion Boards
In the age of social media, are online discussions boards obsolete? Lake Forest-based ProBoards doesn't think so--based on the company's update of its free Internet forum software, ProBoards Version 5. Virgin Galactic Has First Rocket-Powered Flight Test
Mojave-based commercial spaceflight firm Virgin Galactic has completed the first, rock-powered flight of its SpaceShipTwo space vehicle, the company said this morning--which the company says is the "final phase" of vehicle testing before it launches its commercial service. Hulu Revives All My Children, One Life To Live
Los Angeles-based Hulu has added two soap operas, All My Children and One Life to Live to its lineup, saying this morning that it will be adding new episodes of those shows on both Hulu and Hulu Plus, starting today. Both of those soaps will be debuting new episodes every weekday at 2AM PT, and continues the storyline from when the soaps left broadcast television. Tipalti Ties Payments Service To Affiliate Tracking Software Developer
Tipalti, which develops an automated, mass payment platform for affiliate and other marketers, has integrated its service with CAKE, a provider of online campaign and affiliate tracking, the firms have announced. According to the two, the integration deals allows CAKE's users to easily send payments to vendors in 190 countries. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. NetDNA Wins StumbleUpon.com
Los Angeles-based content delivery network operator NetDNA reports this morning that its CDN services have been selected by StumbleUpon. NetDNA said that StumbleUpon, a popular content discovery services, has selected its MaxCDN service to improve its website performance. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. NetDNA said StumbleUpon has more than 25 million users worldwide.

Boingo Expands In Europe
Boingo Wireless, the Los Angeles-based Wi-Fi network operator, is expanding in Europe today, saying it has inked a network access deal with GOWEX. According to Boingo, the new partnership adds hotspots in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, and more. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Boingo said the deal adds 1,400 additional hotspots to its network, across more than 50 cities throughout Spain, France, Ireland and Belgium. PathCentral Lands Johns Hopkins
Irvine-based PathCentral, which operates an online community for pathologists, said today that the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine has joined its online information exchange and consultation forum. Financial impact of the win was not announced. PathCentral's online service lets physicians upload case files and images, and lets pathologists send and perform consultations.

Mojix Selected By BP
Los Angeles-based passive RFID tracking technology provider Mojix said last week that it has been selected by BP, for a $7 billion, offshore drilling project. Mojix said it will provide its technology for an oil platform product in the North Sea off the coast of Scotland. Mojix did not disclose how much the deal for use in the Clair Ridge oil platform project is worth to the firm, but did say that BP will use the firm to manage and monitor its supply chain, including tracking crates, heavy life (More info...)
