Cool Planet Biosystems Moves HQ To Colorado
Camarillo-based biofuels firm Cool Planet Biofuels is moving its headquarters to Colorado, after that state dangled state tax rebates to attract the company. The company will continue to work on research and development in Camarillo, according to the company. Shopzilla Buys Zappli
Los Angeles-based comparison shopping site Shopzilla said this morning that it has acquired Zappli, a developer of mobile applications. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. Zappli develops a mobile app called InstaBuy, which helps e-commerce sites with quick online checkout via phone, as well as myShopanion, a social shopping app for mobie users. Tinder Gets Endorsement, From Miss USA
Looking for a hot date? A local startup, West Hollywood-based Tinder, looks to have attracted an interesting endorsement: Miss USA 2012 Nana Meriwether. According to an interview with NYMag, Meriwether has been using Tinder since April to find dates in New York. FreedomPop Gets $5M In New Funding For Free Phone, Wireless Service
FreedomPop, the Los Angeles-based provider of free mobile wireless and home broadband Internet service, has raised $5M more in funding, the company is announcing this morning. FreedomPop said it raised the additional, A1 funding from its existing investors, bringing its total raised to $16M. FreedomPop is backed by DCM, Atomico, and Mangrove Partners.
