Cool Planet Biosystems Moves HQ To Colorado
Camarillo-based biofuels firm Cool Planet Biofuels is moving its headquarters to Colorado, after that state dangled state tax rebates to attract the company. The company will continue to work on research and development in Camarillo, according to the company. Cool Planet Biofuels said it will be opening up its first manufacturing plant in Greenwood Village, Colorado.

Hubber Launches Peer-to-Peer Car Rentals At LAX

Are you tired of paying a lot for parking your car for days on end at Los Angeles International, and ending up with just an empty wallet and a dirty car when you get back? Shopzilla Buys Zappli
Los Angeles-based comparison shopping site Shopzilla said this morning that it has acquired Zappli, a developer of mobile applications. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. Zappli develops a mobile app called InstaBuy, which helps e-commerce sites with quick online checkout via phone, as well as myShopanion, a social shopping app for mobie users. Tinder Gets Endorsement, From Miss USA
Looking for a hot date? A local startup, West Hollywood-based Tinder, looks to have attracted an interesting endorsement: Miss USA 2012 Nana Meriwether. According to an interview with NYMag, Meriwether has been using Tinder since April to find dates in New York. Beachfront Media Rolls Out Mobile SDKs
Burbank-based Beachfront Media, the developer of video software tools headed by Frank Sinton, is further extending its outreach to app developers today, with a new set of SDKs. FreedomPop Gets $5M In New Funding For Free Phone, Wireless Service
FreedomPop, the Los Angeles-based provider of free mobile wireless and home broadband Internet service, has raised $5M more in funding, the company is announcing this morning. FreedomPop said it raised the additional, A1 funding from its existing investors, bringing its total raised to $16M. FreedomPop is backed by DCM, Atomico, and Mangrove Partners. According to the company, the funding will go to help accelerate growth at the company, plus boost launch of an upcoming, free phone.

United Online, OpenX Tie On Advertising Technology Deal

Two, Los Angeles online advertising firms have linked up in a technology deal today. Pasadena-based OpenX Technologies, and Woodland Hills-based United Online said that the companies are in a deal, where OpenX will become the exclusive provider of digital monetization technology for display ad inventory for United Online's Juno, NetZero, and Classmates properties.
