SHIFT, Gradient X Link Advertising Tools
Two of LA's growing online and mobile advertising advertising firms, SHIFT, and Gradient X, have tied together in a partnership, the companies said Wednesday. SHIFT, which operates a real-time advertising platform aimed at agencies and brands, and Gradient X, which offers up programmatic advertising tools for mobile, said they have integrated Gradient X's product within SHIFT's Open Marketing Cloud. Power-One Gets Approval From Stockholders On Acquisition
Camarillo-based power conversion and solar inverter manufacturer Power-One has received stockholder approval on the company's $1 billion acquisition by ABB, the company said late Tuesday. Power-One said that 98.0 percent of the shares voted were in favor of the merger, which had been announced in April. SendGrid Links Into Google App Engine
Anaheim- and Boulder, Colorado-based email services provider SendGrid has linked up with Google App Engine, the Google program which lets developers host their websites on Google's Cloud. According to SendGrid, it has become a Technology Partners to the Google Cloud Platform Partner Program, which makes its email services and API available to developers on GAE. CALIENT Technologies Gets $27 Million
Santa Barbara-based CALIENT Technologies said this morning that it has raised $27M in a round of venture funding, from both new and existing investors. Names of those investors were not announced. According to Calient, it will use the funding to enhance its portfolio of optical circuit switching systems, to extend its IP portfolio, and for working capital. Sonos Adds Android Direct Music Streaming
Santa Barbara-based Sonos, the maker of the user friendly, whole home, wireless music systems, has added support for streaming music directly from Android phones and tablets. Sonos said that the latest update to its Sonos Wireless HiFi System now lets users play music stored on a Android phone or tablet. Sonos previously allowed users to control Sonos with its Android app, but the app had not supported streaming music stored on the actual Android device itself. Illumina Buys Liquid Logic
San Diego-based biotech equipment provider Illumina has acquired Advanced Liquid Logic, a provider of liquid handling solutions, the firm said yesterday. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Advanced Liquid Logic (ALL) develops microfluidics technology, which precisely manipulates small droplets within a sealed disposable cartridge to perform complex laboratory protocols. Illunina said the buy will help it deliver its next generation sequencing workflow products.

MySocialCloud Acquired By Reputation.com
MySocialCloud, the Los Angeles startup developed by brother and sister Scott Ferreira and Stacey Ferreira, has been acquired by Reputation.com, the company is announcing today. MySocialCloud develops an online, cloud-based platform for managing the passwords, logins, and data of users. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Inktank Gets Ceph Win In Hawaii
Los Angeles-based open source storage software developer Inktank, which is behind the Ceph open source storage software, has deployed its products in a win in Hawaii. The company said that the College of Education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa has deployed its Ceph storage software, in conjunction with OpenStack. DriveCam Wins New England Food Distributor
San Diego-based driving safety system developer DriveCam announced a customer win today, saying it has signed City Line Distributors, a independent full service food distributor in New England, as a customer. DriveCam said the company will deploy DriveCam's systems across its entire fleet. Financial details, and size of the win, was not announced.
