Dynamite Data Acquired By Market Track
Dynamite Data, a developer of consumer and retail channel intelligence and big data information, has been acquired by Market Track, according to Market Track. Some of Dynamite Data's executives are based in Los Angeles, although the firm is headquartered in Chicago. Financial terms of the sale were not announced. Market Track said that Dynamite Data's leadership team, including CEO Diana Schulz, will join the company's team. Schulz is based in Los Angeles, and was formerly CEO of Cyber-Rain.

SetPoint Medical Raises $27.0M
Valencia-based SetPoint Medical, a developer of biomedical products for treating inflammatory disease, announced today that it has raised $27M in a financing round. The new funding came from Covidien Ventures, Action Potential Venture Capital Limited, and Boston Scientific. Action Potential is the strategic venture capital fund of GlaxoSmithKline. CAP Wireless Acquired By TriQuint
Newbury Park, California-based CAP Wireless, a developer of RF amplifiers based on Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, has been acquired by TriQUint Semiconductor. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been announced. CAP Wireless develops RF amplifiers which replace traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) in communications and defense systems. Nimble Integrates With Dropbox
Santa Monica-based Nimble, the developer of customer relationship management tools, has tied its CRM tools into the popular Dropbox file storage service, the company said this morning. According to Nimble, it now lets users attach Dropbox files to contact records and deals in its cloud-based software, which is used by sales people and others to track their business contacts and relationships. Factual Doubles Space In Shanghai
Los Angeles-based data startup Factual has expanded its office in Shanghai, China, the company said Wednesday, with plans to boost hiring in the location. According to Factual, it currently has 12 people in Shanghai, mostly providing engineering services to the company, and now has space to easily accommodate 24 people. j2 Global Sees Record Quarter
Los Angeles-based J2 Global, the Internet services firm which has grown into a diversified Internet services and publishing empire, reported last night that it had a record quarter, with revenues of $141.4M, a 58 percent increase versus its revenues a year ago. The company now owns an empire of Internet fax, hosted email, email marketing, online backup, CRM software, unified communications--not to mention an entire publishing arm, which includes Ziff Davis and IGN Entertainment. RealD Lands Deal With Mexican Theater Chain
Los Angeles-based RealD reported a win in Mexico yesterday, with Cinemex, which it says is Mexico's second largest cinema exhibitor and the sixth largest cinema exhibitor in the world. RealD said it has inked a 10 year agreement to equip approximately 700 auditoriums across Mexico with its 3D projection technology. Financial impact of the win was not announced. Peregrine Semiconductor Powers LG's Optimus G Pro
San Diego-based semiconductor developer Peregine Semiconductor has cored a design win with LG Electronics, and is powering the antenna tuning design in the LG Optimus G Pro smartphone. According to Peregrine, its radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs) are being used to optimize the performance of LG"s new phone, which was just introduced to the Korean market. AeroVironment Names General Counsel
Monrovia, California-based AeroVironment, the developer of unmanned aircraft and electric charging devices, said Wednesday that it has named Douglas E. Scott as its new Seniro Vice President and General Counsel. Scott joins AeroVironment from SAIC, where he led the firm's legal department. AeroVironment said that Scott had been at SAIC for nearly 20 years. Scott also was SAIC's corporate secretary.
